Welcome to all, I am native from Madrid, born in Manresa, family from Asturias, northern Spain and raised in Madrid, since early age I was interested in the arts and history of my city and my country. As time went by I started specializing in the culture of my beloved Madrid where I have been guiding for almost 10 years now! I have special interest in nineteenth century history and Spanish art and I am a great fan of Francisco de Goya, one of the masters one can find in Madrid. As a professional and as the local who grew up in Madrid, I can vouch that neither as an art center no as a social hot spot Madrid would ever let you down. This tour aims to show Madrid from a different perspective: social, historical and of course gastronomical. Hence, the mix of those three things gives us our tour name: Gastronomix! I was raised by a family from Asturias, and in my land of origin we are born to be gourmet citizens, this is one of the main reasons you should be coming on this tour with me. Also, I know every little bar and that makes it unique, not everyone does! The tour will be a walking private tour through the most interesting parts of the city getting to know some of the real bar and taverns life of Madrid, you will let your taste buds enjoy every minute of this experience, and your mind as well as your belly will be happy and satisfied. This is an easy going way of learning not only about historical facts but as well about many gastronomical facts of Madrid and Spain as well. There is no better way to know a culture than going trough the tastes and flavours that it can offer to their visitors!
Enrique's wonderful energy and deep knowledge of all things Spanish carried us delightfully through a day of miserable rain in Madrid. We asked for a tour combining gastronomy and history for our first visit to Madrid and Enrique delivered big time with many delicious tastes and interesting insights into this amazing city. We had the pleasure of joining Enrique for a Madrid Gastro tour. I would take this tour again with Enrique in an instant, money well spent. The tour consisted of a perfect blend of local history combined, of course, with excellent food and drink tasting. It's a great way to get more familiar with the local cuisine. Enrique is passionate about Madrid history and culture, without taking himself too seriously. He has a great sense of humor and jovial personality. His English is fluent, FYI.
Enrique was an excellent tour guide- he was very passionate about Madrid and the history of the beautiful city. The food was amazing and he really listened to us with what we liked to eat and drink. Would definitely recommend this tour to everyone! Word of warning- do not eat before you go and don't make dinner plans...you will be full!
