Hola, welcome to Madrid! My name is Mariluz and I am a fully licensed professional guide of Madrid, Toledo, Avila and Segovia. I am graduated in Tourism (University of Zaragoza) and an expert of Spanish History and Art. I am also graduated in Economics (University of Zaragoza) and in Foreign Languages at the University of Poitiers, France. After some years travelling within Europe guiding groups from Spain and America, I decided to become Local Guide of Madrid, the city that adopted me more than 26 years ago! I love Madrid. It is a very interesting city and very open to everyone. Very soon, you feel you are part of it. I have been working as a Local Guide since 2. 001. I guide in all the most important museums in Madrid and I have the License to guide inside all the Monuments that are part of the National Trust or Heritage (Patrimonio Nacional), like the Royal Palace in Madrid. I feel happy : I love my job. It is my passion. I find it very interesting to share our History, Architecture, culture and even our cuisine recipes with travelers from all around the world. I have provided tours to so many different people! . . some of them even famous actors from Hollywood, like Morgan Freeman, Robert Downey Jr or Patrick Stewart. Overview of your Madrid tour
First time in Madrid? So, this should be your first tour!! You will see the highlights of Madrid in 4 hours. Starting with a panoramic tour with our private vehicle, you will discover the different neighbourhoods of the city : Salamanca Sector with the beautiful architecture of the XIX century and the international boutiques, Paseo de la Castellana and the state buildings, the beautiful fountains of the XVIII century decorating Prado Promenade and the museums, the bull fight ring, Gran Via street, Cibeles Square, Alcala Gate. . . After this general overview of the city, we will explore by walking the beautiful places of my favourite spot, the oldest town: the charming Plaza de Oriente, with the Royal Palace, the Cathedral, Plaza de la Villa, Plaza Mayor, and the Market of San Miguel. This is a perfect place where you can enjoy some tapas or a nice meal after my tour and explore the madrileño way of socializing!
