A day in Toledo from Madrid. Private Tour by High-speed train

I loved this tour and loved getting to know Beatriz. She grew up between Toledo and Madrid and knows Toledo as only a true local would. We took a taxi to the spots with the best views, we strolled around town and climbed the hills before it got too hot, she knew the shortcuts to avoid the crowds and the best taverns and restaurants that cater to locals more than tourists. She knows the history of the city in detail, names and dates of all the famous historical figures. Her tour of the Toledo cathedral, a place she clearly loves, was especially detailed. We skipped the Alcazar, that alone would take a whole day, but we visited the El Greco Museum since I told her El Greco was one of the painters I wanted to learn more about. Starting from knowing almost nothing about Toledo, I now feel I know at least something and want to return. Within an hour of meeting Beatriz, I feel like I had made a great friend in a new country. She was so friendly, entertaining, easy to talk to, and so knowledgeable and passionate about history, art, religion, and culture.

Toledo is where Beatriz heart resides. She is passionate about the Cathedral and history of the city. We really enjoyed our day with her. The train ride was only 30 minutes. We took our time and enjoyed a local lunch, along with a treat of local pastries. Such a beautiful city! Highly recommend.

Beatriz was an amazing guide! From our first encounter at the train station she was warm and friendly. Her knowledge of Toledo - the history, architecture, art, legends, magic, etc. was amazing! We learned a lot and had a fun day, too! Beatriz was like an old friend, not someone we just met. My family and I highly recommend spending the day in Toledo with her.

Her ability to weave the many historical currents from the Visigoths to modernity, is impressive as it is enthralling. We left the day knowing that Beatriz made us feel like we had always lived there.
