Let me introduce myself. My name is Susana and I've been guiding in Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, and Avila for over twenty years now as a full-time activity, and. . . . here I am, still on stage. I am happy to say that I have done over 500 tours only with ToursByLocals during the last 9 years. This hasn't been my only job ever, I have been teaching languages since. . . always, as this is the family business, and I got to know the tourism industry since I was very young as it was my early passion. Hotels, airlines, tour director. . . All these experiences have made me a very versatile person, which helps a lot with my actual activity. From the Middle Ages, through the Italian Renaissance and Spanish Baroque (Velazquez) to Goya, will get to walk through the History of Occidental Art in a very entertaining way. It will be a trip through the history of art and the evolution of the perception of the human mind, reflected on the panels and canvases reunited in one of the most important painting collections of the world. You don't need to be an expert, but by the end of the tour, you will feel like one! This is a stunning tour of the history of Spanish art in the Prado, packed into three hours. Susana was vibrant, enthusiastic and engaged. She imparted an enormous amount of information while being easy to follow. She doesn't just lecture; she engaged us in dialogue about the paintings we were seeing. Susana knows art history - and it really showed during our tour of the Prado with her. While my teenagers didn't get all of the nuance of history, culture, and religion, they remembered quite a bit - because Susana kept them engaged throughout. Definitely the best way to see the best of the Prado!

If you would like to organize a combo of this museum with the Thyssen Bornemisza Collection which is located rigth across the road, let's talk about it!, In this case we will include also the American Painting (the best collection of it in Europe), the French Impressionists, German Expressionists, the between the wars period and a summary of the avant-gards of the 20th century.
