Let me introduce myself. My name is Susana and I've been guiding in Madrid, Toledo, Segovia, and Avila for over twenty years now as a full-time activity, and. . . . here I am, still on stage. I am happy to say that I have done over 500 tours only with ToursByLocals during the last 9 years. This hasn't been my only job ever, I have been teaching languages since. . . always, as this is the family business, and I got to know the tourism industry since I was very young as it was my early passion. Hotels, airlines, tour director. . . All these experiences have made me a very versatile person, which helps a lot with my actual activity. For six years I have been the Chairman of the Madrid Tourist Guide Association, which shows my compromise with and faith in this profession which I find absolutely wonderful, as it is so to be able to share with my guests, my friends, all the magnificent heritage that surrounds me. Overview of your Madrid tour

The Prado is one of the top10 museums in the world according to National Geographic, but the Number 1 Painting Collection according to the number of master pieces exhibited. From the Middle Ages, through the Italian Renaissance and Spanish Baroque (Velazquez) to Goya, will get to walk through the History of Occidental Art in a very entertaining way. It will be a trip through the history of art and the evolution of the perception of the human mind, reflected on the panels and canvases reunited in one of the most important painting collections of the world. You don't need to be an expert, but by the end of the tour, you will feel like one! And the good news are, if you don't want to stand online in order to make the best of your time, just let me know, and I'll get the "skip the line" tickets in advance! Susanna gave me an incredible tour! Not only info about the paintings but the history behind them. Building from the Middle Ages to nineteenth century. To me it was better than an audio guide since I could ask questions! I have a much better understanding of the breadth of art in the Prado. Learning about how one artist influenced another was a real treat! Susanna provided me with a much deeper understanding of Goya in particular! I highly recommend this tour! I would do it again! Especially nice to skip the line! Thank you Susanna!!

This is a stunning tour of the history of Spanish art in the Prado, packed into three hours. Susana was vibrant, enthusiastic and engaged. She imparted an enormous amount of information while being easy to follow. She doesn't just lecture; she engaged us in dialogue about the paintings we were seeing. We learned an enormous amount while having a great time. I highly recommend Susana, especially if you want to take a deeper than usual dive into art history.

She was able to provide historic and cultural contexts as well as thematic and artistic explanations of the paintings. Susana knows art history - and it really showed during our tour of the Prado with her. While my teenagers didn't get all of the nuance of history, culture, and religion, they remembered quite a bit - because Susana kept them engaged throughout. Definitely the best way to see the best of the Prado!

It will be a trip through the history of art and the evolution of the perception of the human mind, reflected on the panels and canvases reunited in one of the most important painting collections of the world. If you would like to organize a combo of this museum with the Thyssen Bornemisza Collection which is located rigth across the road, let's talk about it!, In this case we will include also the American Painting (the best collection of it in Europe), the French Impressionists, German Expressionists, the between the wars period and a summary of the avant-gards of the 20th century. Quite demanding but very satisfying. Don't hesitate asking for a quotation. DUE TO CHANGES IN MUSEUM POLICY, THE TOUR WILL BE CANCELLED IF THERE ARE NO AVAILABLE ONLINE TICKETS.
