Dear travelers, I am a Licensed tour guide for all the region of Andalucia, and I'm currently working as a self-employed tour guide in Granada. I hold a degree in Art History and I'm specialized in Architecture and Cultural Heritage; I'm also trained in Building Techniques, as an expert in Restoration, and therefore my professional background includes fields as Restoration & Archaeology. But I also do love traveling as well, and I've worked in many different areas in the Tourism Industry, which makes me aware of the importance of a flawless and straightforward customer service. I enjoy solo traveling and I've travelled through Europe with an Interrail Pass twice; I've lived in many different places, including a ten-month stay in the USA during my sophomore year in high school; around two years in Italy learning about restoration, and other two years in the UK working as an archaeologist. I always try to get the most out of what life has to offer. The tours I provide in Granada include the Alhambra & Generalife complex or Walking Tours in different parts of the city as Albayzín & Sacromonte, Cathedral, etc. But let me know which are your particular interests and I will design a bespoke tour especially for you! I'm also a real foodie, as my parents had a lovely family restaurant when I was a teenager and we've always been really interested both in traditional gastronomy and in Nouvelle cuisine, and we love to try all the new restaurants in town! Therefore, I also do Tapas Tours, and I have designed a Vegan/vegetarian Tapas Tour, specially conceived for people with food restrictions who want to enjoy a truly Tapas experience in Granada (something sometimes difficult if you don't know where to go!!). All my Tapas Tours are also adapted for people with mobility issues. . . same as the Alhambra tour (not so easy for the City Tour though, but we can always try to give you the best solution, of course!).  And obviously, apart from guiding you around Granada, I can also give you some good advices about the best places to eat and where you can find that perfect & unique souvenir. . . So, if you're coming to Granada, and want to get the most out of it, do not hesitate to contact me!! Marina :) 2008 Master's Degree in Architecture and Cultural Heritage - University of Sevilla. 2005 Bachelor's Degree in Art History - University of Granada. 2004 Building techniques for heritage conservation - Centro Albayzín, Granada. Licensed tour guide for Andalucia, nº1881 Authorized interpreter for the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba, nº119 Authorized interpreter for the Picasso Museum in Málaga. None

Overview of your Granada tour

Everyone who visits this city quickly understands that Granada is much more than the Alhambra. . . Granada is magic, it's bursting with life! I felt in love with this city when I came here to study Art History long time ago, and I still am. It's a vibrant university town. . . modern and traditional at the same time; it's full of history and constrasts. . . Do you know we have a gypsy and troglodyte district? It's called Sacromonte and it's so unique! With flamenco caves and impressive belvederes. . . with an amazing landscape and loads of hidden charming little spots that I can help you discover!! Some of this areas are not even pointed in the maps so, let me guide you through its narrow alleys and you will understand what "love at first sight" is!!

We loved our tour with Marina! She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Granada and helped show us parts of the city we would not have found on our own. She was engaging, in both Spanish and English, and our students learned quite a bit! She also helped us with local recommendations. I would definitely recommend working with Marina!

Marina provided and wonderful experience on seeing the old neighborhoods of Granada in the hills, providing historical details, in a manner that displayed a deep love for the city, its peoples and history. To me an experience with a guide is like a dance, as you learn each others style and the guide, understanding the tourist's interest, information is provided to make the experience for the tourist expectational. Marina exceled in this manner, as well as the level of knowledge of the city. Personal suggestions on food and music an added plus. A lovely tour experience in this one of a kind city !

Marina’s credentials are so impressive that we booked her way in advance for two tours. I don’t know that I would have ventured way up into the Albaicin without a guide. The views are spectacular and Marina’s explanation of the history of the neighborhood and about the carmens made the visit much more enjoyable. We also went to the Cathedral. I’d never seen a Gothic/Renaissance cathedral painted white on the inside. I got so much more out of our visit to Granada thanks to Marina’s tour.

Our family loved Marina’s Granada city and food tour. Marina walked us through the main parts of the city (other than the Alhambra, which was a separate tour) and treated us to a delicious lunch at a local taverna. She was very engaging with our kids (ages 16 & 12), and put everything into context with the rich history of the city, region, and country. Marina, who has a background in archaeology, has a passion for her work and it shows. She also gave a perfect recommendation for a traditional flamenco show in a cave. We would very highly recommend touring with Marina if you are in Granada!

Your Granada tour itinerary

*This tour could be customized in each case depending on the meeting point & time, your physical conditions and the climatic circumstances, but the ideal tour would be as follows: -Meeting at Plaza Isabel la Católica -Head up towards the picturesque Plaza Nueva -Follow the Darro river until we arrive at Paseo de Los Tristes -Mount up the hill to enter in the Sacromonte district and keep climbing through its sinuous steps with amazing views -If we're lucky, we might find some neighbour who would show us their cave-house for a euro or two -Head towards the UNESCO listed Albayzín neighbourhood -Stop at San Nicolás, the most famous viewpoint in Granada, with stunning views of the Alhambra -Descend downtown where we can visit the Royal Chapel, the former silk market and an old caravanserai -We would finish in front of the Cathedral of Granada where I could suggest you some good places to eat

This is why I propose you a Walking City Tour; but if you have any mobility restrictions I can organize a customized tour for you using taxis or a private transport if needed.
