Dear travelers, I am a Licensed tour guide for all the region of Andalucia, and I'm currently working as a self-employed tour guide in Granada. I hold a degree in Art History and I'm specialized in Architecture and Cultural Heritage; I'm also trained in Building Techniques, as an expert in Restoration, and therefore my professional background includes fields as Restoration & Archaeology. But I also do love traveling as well, and I've worked in many different areas in the Tourism Industry, which makes me aware of the importance of a flawless and straightforward customer service. I enjoy solo traveling and I've travelled through Europe with an Interrail Pass twice; I've lived in many different places, including a ten-month stay in the USA during my sophomore year in high school; around two years in Italy learning about restoration, and other two years in the UK working as an archaeologist. I always try to get the most out of what life has to offer. The tours I provide in Granada include the Alhambra & Generalife complex or Walking Tours in different parts of the city as Albayzín & Sacromonte, Cathedral, etc. But let me know which are your particular interests and I will design a bespoke tour especially for you! I'm also a real foodie, as my parents had a lovely family restaurant when I was a teenager and we've always been really interested both in traditional gastronomy and in Nouvelle cuisine, and we love to try all the new restaurants in town! Therefore, I also do Tapas Tours, and I have designed a Vegan/vegetarian Tapas Tour, specially conceived for people with food restrictions who want to enjoy a truly Tapas experience in Granada (something sometimes difficult if you don't know where to go!!). All my Tapas Tours are also adapted for people with mobility issues. . . same as the Alhambra tour (not so easy for the City Tour though, but we can always try to give you the best solution, of course!). And obviously, apart from guiding you around Granada, I can also give you some good advices about the best places to eat and where you can find that perfect & unique souvenir. . . So, if you're coming to Granada, and want to get the most out of it, do not hesitate to contact me!! Marina :) 2008 Master's Degree in Architecture and Cultural Heritage - University of Sevilla. 2005 Bachelor's Degree in Art History - University of Granada. 2004 Building techniques for heritage conservation - Centro Albayzín, Granada. Everyone who visits this city quickly understands that Granada is much more than the Alhambra. . . Granada is magic, it's bursting with life! I felt in love with this city when I came here to study Art History long time ago, and I still am. It's a vibrant university town. . . modern and traditional at the same time; it's full of history and constrasts. . . Do you know we have a gypsy and troglodyte district? It's called Sacromonte and it's so unique! With flamenco caves and impressive belvederes. . . with an amazing landscape and loads of hidden charming little spots that I can help you discover!! Some of this areas are not even pointed in the maps so, let me guide you through its narrow alleys and you will understand what "love at first sight" is!!
*This tour could be customized in each case depending on the meeting point & time, your physical conditions and the climatic circumstances, but the ideal tour would be as follows: -Meeting at Plaza Isabel la Católica -Head up towards the picturesque Plaza Nueva -Follow the Darro river until we arrive at Paseo de Los Tristes -Mount up the hill to enter in the Sacromonte district and keep climbing through its sinuous steps with amazing views -If we're lucky, we might find some neighbour who would show us their cave-house for a euro or two -Head towards the UNESCO listed Albayzín neighbourhood -Stop at San Nicolás, the most famous viewpoint in Granada, with stunning views of the Alhambra -Descend downtown where we can visit the Royal Chapel, the former silk market and an old caravanserai -We would finish in front of the Cathedral of Granada where I could suggest you some good places to eat
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
This is a Walking Tour The city of Granada has a typical medieval urbanism with many narrow streets and cobbled stairs, where cars cannot go through. Besides this, must of the city center and the old town has traffic restrictions, so the most peculiar and beautiful spots can only be discovered on foot. This is why I propose you a Walking City Tour; but if you have any mobility restrictions I can organize a customized tour for you using taxis or a private transport if needed.
Granada, Andalusia, Spain
A good meeting point could be right by the statue of the Queen Isabel in Plaza Isabel la Católica (in the intersection of Gran Vía de Colón and C/Reyes Católicos). If you want to avoid having to walk uphill too much, then we could meet at "San Cristobal" viewpoint, which is one of the highest viewpoints in the city, and easy to reach by taxi. If you prefer, we could also meet at the lobby of your hotel.
