Trip to Sigulda and Turaida from Riga

Travel by private vehicle to Sigulda to visit natural attractions along the Gauja River and two main attractions in the area, the Castle Of The Livonian Order and the Turaida Museum Reserve. I visited Sigulda and Turaida for the first time when I was 9 years old. This place with its picturesque nature and the most ancient castles left an unforgettable impression on me. During my school and university years, I tried to visit this place at least several times per year - especially in autumn, when the leaves of the trees turn reddish yellow and beautify the local fauna. It is a special place for me and I try to do my best during the tour to make Sigulda/Turaida a special place for travelers too - a place where you would like to come back to one day.

Guests are picked up at the designated hotel or apartment. The journey takes approximately 1 hour one way. During the trip, I will tell you about the history of Riga and Latvia and answer any questions you may have. The first stop will be Emperor's View, which is approximately 67 meters above the level of the Gauja and offers a fine view of Krimulda and Turaida Castle. Mighty stone walls of ruins keep many historical events and stories. It is fascinating to imagine how the knights of the Livonian Order were mastering their fighting skills in this place. For the last stop we will visit the Turaida museum reserve is a vast territory, rich in art and history gems - the Turaida Castle, the wooden church, and many other buildings.
