Complete Riga Half Day Shore Excursion

In this tour we will visit all major sites in Riga covering Art Nouveau heritage, Medieval Old town, wooden architecture of historical fisherman village, Central market area and some local food tasting. Riga is more than 800 hundreds years old and we will see legacy left by different powers and rulers throughout those centuries - including German bishops and crusaders, Swedish king, Russian Czar and soviet regime. I will tell you what impact those powers had on Latvian culture, mentality and economy and how we live today.

Tour starts at Riga Passanger port. With a private minivan we drive through the picturesque fisherman village and enjoy the skyline of Riga Old town known since 16th century. After that we visit Stalin period skyscraper for the best panoramic view of Riga where I will introduce you with Riga history (entrance 8 eur per person to be paid in cash). We proceed to Central Market and taste some traditional food. From here we drive to the district known as Art Nouveau quarter to enjoy the most amazing buildings. This area was built on the turn of 20th century, and there is a big economy growth story behind that. Our next stop is Old town. As Old town is mainly walking area we continue a walking tour from here, covering most popular sites like House of Blackheads, Cathedrals, houses of Three Brothers, Market square and also some secret places only the locals know. You will have time for lunch. After the tour we walk to the port that is 15min walk from the Old town.
