Overview of your Riga tour

After meeting in the port or your hotel we drive to Bauska - the place of the last castle built in Livonia and then to see Rundale Palace - a great masterpiece of Baroque and Rococo style, built for E. I. Biron - the favourite of Anna Ioanovna, Russian Empress in the 18th century. Rundale is located in a peaceful countryside surrounded by a magnificent garden of roses, a marvelous French-style regular park and orchards. Most of the premises of the Palace are now open for visitors and the wonderful views will be accompanied by my stories of glamorous court life in the 18th "Century of Charm" and about fortunes of outstanding people in history of Courland Dukedom and Russian Empire, about the architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli and his wonderful architectural style. You'll be also able to enjoy a nice cup of coffee in the palace or park cafe

Olga went out her way to make sure that we had an amazing experience for the Rundale Palace tour. Olga is very knowledgeable of the history of Latvia as she shared and answered our questions along the way. We enjoyed the castle in Bauskas. The Rundale castle and gardens were absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed our guide. The highlight of our trip was a surprise that she had planned for us.

Olga met our ship and off we went exploring the country side and then Rundale Palace. We enjoyed her so much as we toured the palace and the beautiful garden. If you are looking for a wonderful shore excursion this is a good one.
