This area is where locals live, relax, and celebrate life — with its cozy bars, artisan pubs, trendy restaurants and clubs, craft breweries, bakeries, coffee roasters, a gin distillery, and even a chocolate factory. But Brasa also holds a darker, more mysterious side. On the tour we'll explore two of Riga’s oldest cemeteries — the hauntingly beautiful Great Cemetery and the enigmatic Pokrova Cemetery. We'll dive into chilling ghost stories and unravel real-life historical events that shaped this area’s past. Along the way, you'll uncover hidden symbols, unusual details, and forgotten corners not found in guidebooks. By the end of the tour, you’ll not only have a deeper understanding of Brasa’s dual spirit — both lively and somber — but also leave with local tips on where to eat, drink, and experience this unique neighborhood like a true insider.

We’ll start our tour at the Laima Chocolate Factory on Miera iela 22. From there, we’ll walk to the nearby Great Cemetery and Pokrova Cemetery, exploring their hidden corners, unusual symbols, and the ghostly stories they hold. After the tour, I’ll share some local tips on where to enjoy the best coffee, pastries, and hangout spots in Brasa.
