Hi. I'm Michi. I'm a National Licensed tour guide in English. I would like to introduce many faces and charms of Japan and make your stay in Japan more fascinating and satisfying. I was born and raised in Hiroshima. My first English tour was as a volunteer guide for visitors to my school when I was a junior high school student. It gave me a great opportunity to study about the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. I spent my life in Hiroshima except for 6 years; 1 year in the UK when I was a student and 5 years working in Singapore and Malaysia. During this period I have enjoyed meeting and talking with people from different cultural backgrounds. These experiences encouraged me to be a licensed tour guide. In Hiroshima, there are two famous World Heritage Sites: the Atomic Bomb Dome in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial and Itsukushima Shrine in Miyajima. I have experienced many tours of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum & Park since I was a junior high school student. I would like to introduce you to the a-bomb legacies that are still existing in the city and the stories under the mushroom cloud. I also would like to share time with you on a historic island, Miyajima. There is one of the most famous Shinto shrines, the Itsukushima Shrine. There we can share an enjoyable time by exploring a sacred atmosphere, tradition, nature, food, etc... I am also an official 'A-bomb legacy successor' designated by the City of Hiroshima. An A-bomb Legacy Successor is a memory keeper of the A-bomb survivors. To ensure that the A-bomb survivors' experiences and desires for peace are faithfully inherited and shared with as many people as possible, the City has started a three-year training program for official 'A-bomb Legacy Successors.' It is possible to include my lecture in my tour. It would be appreciated if you could let me know BEFORE your booking. Discover two of the most famous World Heritage sites in Japan with me! Itsukushima Shrine: Itsukushima (or Miyajima) is one of the three scenic locations in Japan. It is a World Heritage island that has been worshiped as a sacred island since ancient times. In Miyajima, you can find a unique culture created by a synthesis of Buddhism and Shintoism by combining the two religions. The floating torii gate is a symbol of Hiroshima that you cannot miss! The Atomic Bomb Dome: It is a symbol of world peace and hope for the total abolition of nuclear weapons. It is located in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. We will visit the Atomic Bomb Dome, the Hypocenter, some memorial monuments, and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. 'A-bomb Legacy' Lecture: It takes 60 minutes. Can’t say enough good about Michiru. We had multiple allergies and she accommodated all of us. With a tour group of nine of all ages, she guided us through trams, trains, and ferry without a hitch. She was very knowledgeable and made the trip a delight. Highly recommend her!

This was probably the best and most organized tour we had in Japan, Michi had a plan to tell the story of Hiroshima, and her explanations of the shrines and monuments we saw was terrific and made for a powerful experience. Look no further if you need a Hiroshima tour.
Michi was a great guide. Very knowledgeable about everything we saw. She met us right when we got off the train and stayed with us as much as we needed right up until we got back on the train. Absolutely book her for a day trip from Kyoto or Osaka. No need to have a guide ride the train with you. We saw all the sites and even a surprise boat trip to Peace park. She helped make this a very memorable day.
