Hi! My name is Matteo, born and raised in Rome on March 20th, 1991. I’ve been working as a tour guide since I was 25, combining my love for travel and history with the joy of sharing stories. I studied Languages and Cultural Mediation, as well as History, which deepened my understanding of communication, cultures, and the ancient world around me. Growing up surrounded by ruins and timeless art sparked my curiosity for the past and shaped the way I see the world today. Guiding people through my city isn’t just a job—it’s a way to connect cultures, exchange experiences, and keep history alive every day. If my calendar appears unavailable, please contact me anyway. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel or port via the driver. I’ll meet you at the meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

We’ll meet just outside the Vatican and start our private walking tour through the Vatican Museums, following a route designed to avoid the worst crowds. I’ll focus on a selection of key works rather than rushing, explaining how they connect to the history of Rome, the popes, and the artists who created them. Before entering the Sistine Chapel, I’ll walk you through Michelangelo’s ceiling and the Last Judgment, so that once inside you can simply look up and recognize the main scenes and hidden details on your own. We’ll finish in St. Peter’s Basilica, where I’ll introduce you to Michelangelo’s Pietà, Bernini’s great bronze canopy, and the architecture of the church itself. Throughout the tour you can ask as many questions as you like, change the pace, or ask to focus on specific themes. It’s a flexible, fully private experience designed to make the Vatican feel clear, human, and memorable.
