Ciao & Welcome to Italy Tours with Mauro! I have been involved in the Tour Industry for over 13 years now and look forward to sharing my Beautiful country, it's food, it's traditions and of course it's values on life with all of you. Before entering into the Tour Industry I had spent 15 years in the area of Italian culinary adventures. I have first hand knowledge to share with each of you regarding the different regions, their food, wines, cheeses and tasty treats on the side like olive oil, balsamic and the art of truffles! Not to mention the best Gelato in each hilltop town inside and out of Rome. I'm originally from the Eastern side of Italy on the Adriatic Sea, a region called Puglia. So I am no stranger to the best beaches, sea food and nature that Italy has to offer as well. I am young, energetic, fun spirited, honest and most of all always on time. Cortona and Arezzo Day Trip
Overview of your Rome tour
This morning we will drive under the Tuscan Sun to reach the wonderful towns of Cortona and Arezzo. CORTONA: Cortona is a small charming town in the Valdichiana, or Chiana Valley, in the province of Arezzo in southern Tuscany. The city, enclosed by stone walls dating back to Etruscan and Roman times, sits on the top of a hill about 600 meters (about 1968 feet) above sea level. This dominant position over the valley offers a spectacular view from all over the town of the surrounding valley and even Lake Trasimeno. AREZZO: Often overshadowed by its more famous Tuscan neighbours, Arezzo is best known for its unique medieval architecture and its Piero Della Francesca murals in the Basilica of S. Francesco. Its wildly-sloping Piazza Grande, which is 10 m higher on one side than the other, hosts a monthly open-air antique fair and medieval jousting each summer. Arezzo has been immortalised in films such as La Vita è Bella and The English Patient.
