Hi there! I'm Barbara, born and raised in Rome, just a few feet from the Vatican City, I love to travel the world and explore different cultures! With a degree in Architecture and a master degree in Historical Building Restoration, I have been studying architecture and art history for all my life, working for several years to the restoration of some of the most prestigious palaces in Rome. Overview of your Rome tour

Enjoy two UNESCO World Heritage Sites in one Day! Tivoli is a small city a few miles from Rome, famous because is the only one in the world which can boast two incredible UNESCO world heritage sites: Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este! Visit with an architect Villa Adriana, built by the Emperor Hadrian at the beginning of the 2nd century AD, a sumptuous complex of over 30 buildings, covering an area of more than 100 hectares (about 250 acres), of which most of it has not yet been excavated. . . Enjoy a delicious lunch break in a typical restaurant (with an amazing location!) and with a jump of over a thousand years, reach Villa d'Este, a gem of the Italian Renaissance, built in the XVI century by Cardinal Ippolito d'Este. As an expert in landscaping architecture I'll guide you through its breathtaking gardens, an imposing concentration of fountains, grottoes and water features, that became a prototype for all the most sumptuous estates in Europe.

Barbara A booked a fabulous, professional driver and took us to Villa Adriana in Tivoli: the Imperial Palace, the Hall of Philosophers, the Maritime Theatre, the small and large spas and the Canopus. We had lunch in an exquisite restaurant with an incredible view -- and bonus, there was an Italian wedding reception which was so fun to watch! We finished at Villa d'Este in Tivoli. It was so nice to be out of the crowds and see incredible sites and history. Thank you Barbara A for a magical day!

Barbara was absolutely wonderful as well as the driver. Really enjoyed getting away from the hustle and bustle of Rome. Tivoli was beautiful!! Barbara arranged our lunch in an unforgettable spot. This was an amazing day. Barbara was super knowledgeable and really fun to be with. She arranged for us to have lunch at a restaurant that was a highlight of the trip. She was very good at 'reading' our group and paced her information really well, and both sites were well worth visiting, especially with a guide who brought it to life. It was lovely to have a local source of knowledge on Rome was well.
