Hi there! I'm Barbara, born and raised in Rome, just a few feet from the Vatican City, I love to travel the world and explore different cultures! With a degree in Architecture and a master degree in Historical Building Restoration, I have been studying architecture and art history for all my life, working for several years to the restoration of some of the most prestigious palaces in Rome. In a word: WOW!!! We were with Barbara for 3 days - Rome, Vatican City and Pompeii. This is my first time using toursbylocals and it was worth every cent!!!! Her experience as a guide (just dealing with logistics) is unparalleled. She maneuvered us through crowds, past lines and into prime viewing spots. She selected amazing restaurants and planned an itinerary based upon our interests. Her historical knowledge made everything come to life! We learned so much! Barbara is a must for Italy!!!

Barbara is an excellent tour guide. She is so knowledgeable and took us to all the areas we requested. She is excited about the history of the city and the details at each location. We enjoyed ourselves so much with her. It is always wonderful to get to be with a local tour guide who can take you to the "local" places and not just the "tourist" areas. Would highly recommend this tour and tour guide.
