Buongiorno! Nice to meet you! I am Abigail, a proud Italian with an English mother and Italian father. I am an Art History expert and I would love to share with you my passion for the two Italian cities I love the most, Venice and Rome! I have studied the history of art and painting in Venice during high school and then graduated with honours in Management of Cultural Tourism. Highlights include the Gallery of Maps, featuring cartographic frescoes, and the Raphael Rooms, painted by Raphael and his students. The tour culminates in the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo’s ceiling and Last Judgment frescoes are both awe-inspiring and humbling. View iconic sculptures, including the Apollo Belvedere and Laocoön and his sons, two masterpieces of classical art. Walk through the Gallery of Tapestries, a hall adorned with magnificent Flemish tapestries, illustrating scenes from the life of Christ and the papacy and proceed through the Gallery of Maps with captivating frescoes of historical maps of Italy, each beautifully detailed and filled with fascinating geographical insights. Enter rooms painted by Raphael and his workshop, including the famous School of Athens, celebrating philosophy and classical knowledge.
