Buongiorno! Nice to meet you! I am Abigail, a proud Italian with an English mother and Italian father. I am an Art History expert and I would love to share with you my passion for the two Italian cities I love the most, Venice and Rome! I have studied the history of art and painting in Venice during high school and then graduated with honours in Management of Cultural Tourism. I have always loved art together with travelling and discovering all aspects of culture. During my university career I experienced one year abroad with a scholarship in Spain and also took part in a prestigious internship with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, one of my favourite museums in town. Just after graduation I studied for my tour leader and tour guide licenses and then attended several art history courses in Rome and the UK. Since then I have been sharing the beauty of Venice and Rome with visitors from all over the world. I love meeting people and I hope I will manage to make your day memorable! :) Official Tour Guide License; Official Tour Leader License; Degree with Honours in Management of Cultural Tourism; Venice Peggy Guggenheim Collection Guide; Vatican Museums Authorised Tour Guide; Venice Port Authority License.

This tour offers a captivating journey through one of the world’s most renowned art collections, filled with masterpieces spanning centuries of history. The experience begins with the courtyards and galleries that house treasures from ancient Greece and Rome, as well as works from the Renaissance and Baroque. Highlights include the Gallery of Maps and the Raphael Rooms, adorned with stunning frescoes by Raphael. The tour of the museums culminates in the Sistine Chapel, where Michelangelo’s ceiling and Last Judgment frescoes are both awe-inspiring and humbling. You will then learn about the incredible Piazza San Pietro and its breathtaking Basilica. The tour is not just an artistic journey but also a spiritual experience, as it reflects the history of the Catholic Church and its centuries-old role in the preservation and promotion of art and culture. ATTENTION! you are not allowed inside the Sistine Chapel wearing shorts, mini-skirts, or with bare shoulders. Only small backpacks or handbags allowed.
Begin with an overview of the Vatican Museums’ history in the courtyard, view iconic sculptures, including the Apollo Belvedere and Laocoön and his sons, two masterpieces of classical art. Walk through the Gallery of Tapestries, illustrating scenes from the life of Christ and the papacy and proceed through the Gallery of Maps with frescoes of historical maps of Italy, each beautifully detailed and filled with fascinating insights. Enter rooms painted by Raphael and his workshop, including the famous School of Athens, celebrating philosophy and classical knowledge. Conclude the tour with Michelangelo’s masterpiece—the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Take in the awe-inspiring Creation of Adam and the dramatic Last Judgment frescoes. After the Vatican Museums we will discover Piazza San Pietro and its Basilica, the largest catholic church in the world filled with breathtaking artworks.
