I still remember the first time I saw ancient statues, I was in the Vatican Museum and I was a child. Those marble giants were not just silent witness of their time but it seemed like I could hear their voices talking to me from the past. Was it that a decisive moment in my life? Probably it was! I graduated in Art History at Rome University and while waiting to find a "real" job I started to work as a guide and, little by little, it became my job! I've been a tourist guide since then which means …. a bit! Still today, the art collection of the mighty Borghese Family is inside their Villa that was intended to be a museum. Moving from one room to the other you literally float in beauty: ceiling, floors and walls are full of marbles, frames and ornaments. Works of art among the finest ever conceived and realized. Gian Lorenzo Bernini masterpieces will show us Baroque sculpture's passion while Canova will introduce us to the elegance of the Neoclassical ones, and more sculptures and ancient mosaics. The Gallery houses some of Caravaggio's paintings - a painter who revolutionized art - that will strike you for their modernity and their powerful chiaroscuro. In the Pinacotheca Raffaello, Correggio, Tiziano, Domenichino, Barrocci and many other masters of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries paintings will unfold seamlessly in front of us. I graduated in Art History at the University of Rome and I can tell you that the Galleria Borghese contains a lot of wonderful art, which I can't wait to show you!
We enjoyed this tour and were blown away by the Villa and all of its treasures. We also asked to change the agenda a bit and included Mussolini’s house- and Patrizia was again very accommodating. Highly recommend her as a tour guide.

We began our vacation in the Mediterranean with Patrizia two weeks ago in Rome central, and now we've ended with Patrizia at the Villa Borghese. As before, she was very friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and organized. She took care of everything during the tour and made sure we had enough time in each location.
