The visit to teh Galleria will give you the cance to experience the wealth and tastes of the seventeen century society, plus admire incredible works of art from Carracci, Guido Reni and many others.
Silvia did a wonderful job of telling us the story of the Colonna family and museum of which she holds in high regard. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Colonna story, site and art within. So much exciting history! Silvia shared her knowledge with us and answered all our questions with excitement and warmth. It was a joy to tour with her, we learned so much more than we would have otherwise.

My husband most often is not impressed by tour guides….I don't know why, but that's the way he is. The exception was/is Silvia. He (we) went away from our tour yesterday absolutely hailing Silvia as one of the best guides we have ever encountered. She is smart, very knowledgable and her English is excellent. We got an informative lesson on Roman history and how it has impacted the Rome we know today. Fascinating stuff. PLUS she introduced us to one of the best gelato places in Rome. It was a great day!

The tour will start from Via della Pilotta, today official entrance to the gallery. Going through a tiny staircase you will be all of a sudden transported back in time and feel like a noble of the XVII century. The Great Hall will marvel you with its splendor and the aboaundance of works of art. This at the time became the perfect example of how a collection had to be displayed. The Colonna were pioneer in the mecenatism of the arts in Rome and their collection became "THE COLLECTION". The family has always been linked to the history of Rome and to the Papacy, being part of the most important historical events of the city, just to metion the victory of Lepanto against the Turks. The visit will continue to teh gardens from where you will admire a stunning view of Rome. You can extend the visit with the apartment of the Princess Isabel, open now to the public, to get a better idea also of the lifestyle of a roman noble. Please contact me for customization.
