Overview of your Rome tour

The Galleria Borghese Museum displays a collection of ancient sculptures, mosaics, as well as paintings and sculptures dating from the 15th through the 19th centuries. The first and most important part goes back to the collecting of Cardinal Scipione Borghese, nephew of Pope Paul V . In this overwhelming private tour we can admire incredible artists like Caravaggio, Raphael, Titian, Correggio, Antonello da Messina, Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Canova. We will discover the history of this famous family and of the museum in a journey trought ideas, feelings, senses.

The Borghese Gallery tour was a wonderful way for my husband and me to slow down, and take our time enjoying and learning about the sculptures and paintings of this marvelous museum. The Gallery uses timed entrance tickets so there are no crowds. Our tour guide, Raffaela was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about art and architecture, and was able to provide context and history to the pieces we viewed including several Bernini sculptures. Raffaela spoke fluent English, was flexible, engaging, and tailored our tour to our interests, and level of art knowledge. We would love to book another tour with Raffaela to visit the art in some of the many churches around Rome when we're next in Rome. She's a fabulous tour guide!!!

The Borghese Gallery is an astounding collection of the masters, Raphael, Bernini, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Canova et. al. It is impossible to appreciate the works of these masters unless someone with a passion for these works and the knowledge of these works is explaining them to the audience. We are very fortunate to have had Raffaela as our tour guide who has the passion for and the knowledge of these masters. It was a very impressive presentation and tour.

The Borghese Gallery is a stunning collection of works of Michelangelo, Bernini, Caravaggio et al. The use of color, brush and light in the paintings, and the details of the carvings are amazing. Raffaela, in her narrative, does a very good job of knitting the lores and the symbolism with the physical to bring these works "alive". Her narration, has now, made me think about art at a higher level. It was an excellent tour. I am looking forward to the tour of the Palazzo Colonna.
