After studying art restoration and archaeology in Rome, I couldn’t bring myself to return to my home country, Switzerland. But not for the reason you might think—I didn’t fall for a Romeo; I fell for the sheer majesty of this city. That passion led me to become an official tour guide of Rome and the Vatican. Even after years spent in the shadow of the Colosseum, my sense of wonder never fades. Every Roman sunset makes me fall in love all over again. The warm, golden light, the ancient monuments, the lively piazzas and fountains that whisper a thousand stories, the breathtaking museums and churches crowned with exquisite domes, and the Tiber, winding past mesmerizing sights—Rome never ceases to amaze me. And let’s not forget the incredible Roman cuisine! My greatest joy is sharing this deep love for the Eternal City with you, so that you, too, will long to return. If my calendar appears unavailable, please contact me anyway. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel via the driver. I’ll meet you at the meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

Escape the bustling city and step into ancient history along the legendary Appian Way, Rome’s first great road. Pass through the mighty Aurelian Walls and Saint Sebastian Gate before descending into the eerie Catacombs of St. Domitilla (or St. Callixtus on Tuesdays), where early Christians found their resting place. Walk on the original basalt stones of the Ancient Appian Way, surrounded by timeless landscapes. Admire the ruins of the Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella, or, if closed, marvel at the majestic Roman Aqueducts. A fascinating journey through Rome’s hidden past awaits!
Walking along the Via Appia Antica is a pleasant change from the city. In Roman times, burials within the city walls were prohibited. While Roman pagans were cremated, Christians preferred to be buried. Highlights: - Aurelian Walls 271-277 AD - Porta San Sebastiano - Catacombs of Santa Domitilla (closed on Tuesdays, instead we will see the Catacombs of San Calisto) - The ancient Via Appia with the original pavement - The Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella (closed on Mondays), if they are closed you will see the Roman Aqueducts The itinerary can be customized according to your requests. - Write me if there are people with mobility problems and if you use or need a wheelchair.
