Overview of your Rome tour
Ostia was founded as a fortified settlement near the mouth of the Tiber River in the early 4th century BC. During our visit, we will enjoy breathtaking views of the site and, with the help of maps, drawings and descriptions, we will explore various parts of the ancient city: the Roman theater, the baths, the public fountains, the latrines, the fire station, the temples dedicated to various deities, the Forum, the Piazza delle Corporazioni and a variety of shops (such as a butcher, a bakery, a mill, a wine shop, a fishmonger and a laundry). We will also visit residential buildings such as the House of Cupid and Psyche and the House of the Charioteer. Over a century of excavations have uncovered beautiful mosaics, frescoes and stunning architecture, offering a fascinating glimpse into life in ancient Rome. Join me for a journey back in time to experience this incredible historical site!
