Set in the green hearth of Rome, Villa Borghese, this museum includes breathtaking paintings and sculptures collected by the Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the early 1600s. It includes 6 Caravaggio's, Raphael's, Bernini's and Titian's masterpieces. Anyone can visit a museum alone but of course with a guide is always better, in the Borghese Gallery even more so as you have a limited amount of time inside. With me you can make the best of your time there, make sure that you will not miss any of the highlights plus learn about the history and the stories behind the paintings. FROM MID MARCH2024 TO JULY 2024 or more the top floor of the gallery will be in renovation, whichmeans that many pieces will not be available. Contact me for more infos.
Silvia provided a remarkable tour of this awe-inspiring museum. She guided us through the museum with in-depth knowledge of the eras and artists/sculptures. We learned so much about the history of art in Italy and gained a far better understanding of Italy's influence over art in Europe. I cant say enough good things about Silvia. She made our vacation! She speaks excellent English and her knowledge of art is unmatched! Silvia was wonderful. So knowledgeable about all of the wonderful art we saw. She took her time to explain the nuances of the sculptures and really brought the pieces to life. It's a shame one of the floors was closed for renovation, I should have loved for her to tell me about the art housed there. But the tour I did have was well worth the money. If you choose to book with Sylvia, you will be in good hands.
Silvia was a terrific guide for the Borghese Gallery. She had an incredible knowledge of art and history sharing many interesting facts with us. The tour was well organized and started promptly on the set tour time. I would do other tours with her if I returned to Rome.

We will meet at the entrance of the Museum, 15 minutes before our scheduled time entrance. - 1st Floor main room: introduction about the villa and the collection history - Caravaggio's paintings: the borghese is the only museum in the world with 6 Caravaggio's paintings, not to be missed - Bernini's sculptures: the Cardinal Scipione Borghese discovers the talented Bernini and was his first commisioner - 2nd floor there are stairs to climb ( elevators only for disabled) - Raphael's painting - Titian's painting: for many years this painting has been considered the most important of the collection You can take pictures inside Bags have to be left at the wardrobe, if you do not wish to do that you need to come only with a purse.
