Are you ready to admire the only statue he signed and his first frescos made for a Pope? This is your right tour then. It's best to have an early start for a breathtaking view of Rome's skyline, followed by a stop in front of a unique block of marble, truly worth contemplating. Besides this, you will learn about the building techniques of the dome. Saint Peters Basilica is where the Pope is announced after his election and it holds the remains of most Popes as well. It was built to be the longest and the most magnificent church in the world. This tour will get you walk on its roof! The Sistine Chapel will be the final highlight of a fantastic early morning experience.
Your Rome tour itinerary
- Our tour starts just outside St Peters square. We will get through security that's why an early start (07.15) it is recommended to avoid the long lines. - Next, we will head to the Dome entrance: 1. tickets purchase 2. elevator ride (lines expected). - We will then proceed to climb 326 steps leading to the Dome's upper part to enjoy a stunning view of Rome. - Afterwards, we'll head down to the Basilica to admire Michelangelo "Pietà". - Next, a 15 minutes walk to the Vatican Museums. Entrance at 11.00/11.30 am approx. - Finally, we will get to the Sisitine Chapel to admire Michalangelo's "Genesis", the "Last Judgement" and other unparalleled works by Botticelli. Important: The Pope's schedule may create unexpected closures of the Basilica and Dome. Please consider that if such circumstances occure you will be refunded the tickets cost of the venue missed. Church dress code required. This itinerary can be customized to best fit your specific preferences (no stairs to climb, Sistine Chapel only. . )
