Hello, I'm Francesca Maria, and I am an Archaeologist and Qualified Tour Guide in Rome and Vatican. I've a bachelor's degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage and a master degree in Cultural and Archaeological Heritage at the University of Rome. I was born and raised here, so I am 100% local! Before becoming a tour guide I was working as an archaeologist in several archaeological sites. My archaeological background brings a unique perspective to my walking tours of Rome. With me you will discover more about this beautiful city, its art and history, the fascinating historical sites, the hidden gems, Romans and the Roman way of life. I can customize tours according to your interests. I specialize in private tours for small groups of all ages, including families with younger children. I have children myself, and I am happy to work with children and families as well as adults. My tours are all private, so the visit will be exclusively for you and can be tailored to your wishes and physical abilities. I will be happy to help you to organize the perfect guided tour. I will be your local friend in Rome, and give you suggestions on restaurants, shopping, exhibitions and things to do. I look forward to bringing Rome to life for you! *Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Heritage, Archaeology *Master in Cultural/Archaeological Resources *Qualified TOURIST GUIDE (Rome) I'm not a driver. I provide walking tours. If needed, we can take cabs or I can arrange for a separate car or minivan and driver.

During this private tour you will take a journey thorough Italian history discovering one of the most famous landmarks in Rome, the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument. It was built to celebrate the memory of Vittorio Emanuele II, first king of Italy. The central part of the monument, called Altar of the Fatherland, hosts the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, to honor the memory of the fallen in First World War. You will take the glass elevator that connects to the breathtaking panoramic rooftop terrace of the Vittoriano, from where you can enjoy amazing views of the Eternal City, like the view of the Roman and Imperial Forum the Colosseum, and the Palatine. You will immerse yourself in Italian history from the Renaissance to the twentieth century visiting the majestic Palazzo Venezia with its beautiful garden, reception rooms and its museum of Italian art.
