Hi there! I'm Barbara, born and raised in Rome, just a few feet from the Vatican City, I love to travel the world and explore different cultures! With a degree in Architecture and a master degree in Historical Building Restoration, I have been studying architecture and art history for all my life, working for several years to the restoration of some of the most prestigious palaces in Rome. I decided to become a Tour Guide to share my lifetime experience in Rome with people from all over the world. I'm really proud to unravel the amazing stories hidden behind every alley and square of the Eternal city, bring back to life the outstanding Roman ruins, show the masterpieces made by the most important artists working for the powerful Popes and communicate my passion and true love for my Hometown, like only locals can do! All of my tours are private and can be tailored according to you interests and wishes, so just give me the details and I will create the perfect tour just for you! I hope to welcome you soon to Rome. . . A presto! If you are dreaming of amazing Renaissance villas and manicured Italian gardens. . . this is your tour! Take a break from the hustling and bustling of the Eternal City and drive to the fascinating Tuscia, the northernmost provice of Latium, land of charming villages, vast estates owned by ancient noble families and powerful Popes. Head to Caprarola, small village dominated by the imposing Palazzo Farnese, elegant palace with hundreds of frescoed rooms and outstanding gardens, as impressive as the building itself, one of the best example of the Italian Renaissance garden period. Then, after lunch in a local restaurant, visit another Renaissance gem, Villa Lante at Bagnaia, a Mannerist garden of surprise near Viterbo. The Villa Lante is formed by two casini, nearly identical, built by different owners in a period separated by 30 years and amazing gardens, featuring cascades to fountains and dripping grottoes. . . Two marvels just a few kilometers from Rome!
