I will make you discover the charm of Rome's Jewish Ghetto and typical Trastevere district and admire the highlights of the quarter! This tour is extremely evocative in feeling, imagining and understanding Rome in the past centuries. What I mostly like of my job is explaining people that what they are looking at has a long history to tell. In the Jewish district, the so-called "Ghetto" we will see the huge impact that the Jewish community has had on the cultural identity of the city, from the architecture to the culinary traditions. Once we have finished our stroll from the Theatre of Marcellus and the Synagogue to the Portico di Ottavia we will walk to the Tiber Island. Through the Roman Bridge we will cross the Tiber, see Tiber Island and reach the other shore to be fascinated by Trastevere district. The narrow alleys, old houses, roman traditions and oddities dotted with beautiful and impressive churches: Rome most popular and traditional soul.
Highlights: Theatre of Marcellus (outside) Piazza Mattei Portico di Ottavia Synagogue (outside) Ponte Rotto Ponte Fabricio Tiber Island Piazza in Piscinula Santa Cecilia Church area Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere We will start the tour from the Theatre of Marcellus (outside) and we will walk to Piazza Mattei, Via della Reginella, Octavia's Portico, Synagogue (outside), if you want to visit the Synagogue from the inside I can customize a tour for you. Once we have finished our stroll from the Jewish Ghetto we will walk to the Tiber Island. Through the Roman Bridge we will cross the Tiber, see Tiber Island and reach the other shore to be fascinated by Trastevere district. Here we will stroll through the alleys, ancient churches, and beautiful squares. The itinerary can be customized. Generally in all the Roman historical monuments and churches dress code for both men and women requires shoulders and knees to be covered. Shorts and skirts are fine, but below knees. Do not bring large items.
