After arriving in Naples, you will reach Pompeii with skip-the-line tickets and explore this extraordinary archaeological site, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. The experience continues on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius at a traditional winery, including a visit of the estate and cantina to learn about local wine production. Lunch begins with grilled vegetables, local cheeses, and salumi. This is followed by spaghetti made with pasta produced in Torre Annunziata, just a few miles from the winery, one of Italy’s oldest pasta-making centers, served with Piennolo tomatoes grown on Vesuvius. Traditional meatballs and Pastiera dessert follow. Each course is paired with local wines. Return to Rome by high-speed train in the afternoon.
