Ostia Antica- Half Day Tour - Transfers Included

On this half-day tour, you'll will plunge into the atmosphere of the past and visit an ancient city with its preserved streets, squares, houses, thermal baths and meeting places. Ostia was the main port of ancient Rome. A city of vital importance for trade; its size increased with the expansion of exchanges with other countries around the Mediterranean. It was a bustling city. Daily life for the city's population involved all the activities of a metropolis: going to shops, praying at the temples, attending public events at the forum, theater or piazzas, going to the baths. . . It was abandoned in the Middle Ages, which is why the city appears to be suspended in time. Walking through its ruins in the peaceful countryside of Rome is an experience that lets us feel and smell the lifestyle of a Roman colony at the time of the Empire. You'll meet me and your driver at the hotel, the drive will take about 30 minutes and after the visit we'll return back to the hotel or wherever you prefer in the city centre.

We will meet at the hotel and, after a 30 minutes ride, we'll visit the archeologic site. The itinerary can be customized. Mainly, we'll see: • Necropolis; • The Baths • The theater; • The Piazza of the Corporations. • The House of Diana; • The Thermopolium; • The Bakery of Silvano; • The Capitolium; • The Public Latrines (Forica). Weather: I run tours rain or shine, and most of our itineraries take place entirely or partially outside. Water, sunscreen and a hat are recommended in summer, as are warm layers in winter. Comfortable shoes are always advised.
