Ciao & Welcome to Italy Tours with Mauro! I have been involved in the Tour Industry for over 13 years now and look forward to sharing my Beautiful country, it's food, it's traditions and of course it's values on life with all of you. Before entering into the Tour Industry I had spent 15 years in the area of Italian culinary adventures. I have first hand knowledge to share with each of you regarding the different regions, their food, wines, cheeses and tasty treats on the side like olive oil, balsamic and the art of truffles! Not to mention the best Gelato in each hilltop town inside and out of Rome. I'm originally from the Eastern side of Italy on the Adriatic Sea, a region called Puglia. So I am no stranger to the best beaches, sea food and nature that Italy has to offer as well. I am young, energetic, fun spirited, honest and most of all always on time. Our tour begins from Rome and we will drive toward the Northern hillsides into the Region of Umbria to discover two beautiful walled hilltop towns. Our first stop will be Civita Di Bagnoregio, they call it the dead city where only 16 citizen's live year round. The erosion makes the hillside location something unreal. The city is connected with the region from one long bridge that is the only working bridge for entering the city. Driving through the Umbrian hills we will arrive in the back gate of another ledgen town of Umbira called Orvieto. This town is renowned for it's medieval Duomo from the 10th century. It's here where we will experience the true Umbrian wines at Enoteca Al Duomo. You'll enjoy the famous fresh truffle pasta and the Orvieto classico wines. After lunch we will visit the Duomo with it's breath taking Last Judgment of Luca Signorelli XVI century. You will have time for shopping and some deliciouse gelato before we depart for Rome.
Mauro, your passion and hospitality made our trip to Italy unforgettable! Civita di Bagnoregio and Orvieto were breathtakingly beautiful, like stepping into a living painting. The scenic drive, fascinating stories of the locals, and delightful wine and food tasting left us in awe. Thank you for sharing your love for these towns and their history.
After the noise and bustle of Rome, a day in Orvieto was perfect. Mauro picked us up at our hotel for the hour drive to Orvieto. After stopping to see a hill top town, we arrived in Orvieto where we saw the Duomo with its exterior Bas-reliefs featuring stories from the bible and the famous chapel frescoed by Luca Signorelli. We then had time to do some shopping. We ate lunch near the Duomo where we had the opportunity to have a wine tasting. We were then driven back to our hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
On October 25, 2017 we visit Civitavecchia and Mauro was our Tour Guide. We were four couples. We arrived in the NCL - Epic ship and when we disembarked, he was already at the port waiting for us. WITHOUT A DOUBT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mauro to be your tour guide. He is very knowledgeable of Rome and the entire area outside of Rome. He prepared a customized tour for us based on our requests and it superseded our expectations. He is very pleasant, flexible and always made sure that we were enjoying our tour.
Mauro is exceptionally friendly, outgoing and will do everything he can to make your experience the best he can. We have toured with Mauro twice and referred him to friends - he has not failed to deliver a wonderful time from start to finish. Mauro was the ultimate guide from start to finish. His English was perfect. He had a fun and interesting personality that engaged our family for eight hours! His knowledge of Italy's history, culture , food and wine was amazing. (He was previously a restaurant manager and is great cook and sommelier). We highly recommend his tour of Orvieto and Civita di Bagnoregio. He was also great at finding best photos spots for us. We felt cared for in all aspects and will book him again when in Italy. It's here that we will have time to enjoy the food, soak up the Tuscany / Umbrian sun and enjoy the best culinary art in Italy. Visiting both the inside of the Duomo and St. Patrick's well before departing for Rome. Come explore these medieval towns with me and eat excellent food!!
