Hello, my name is Alessandra and I was born and grew up in Rome - a true local! I graduated in 1995 with a degree in Art History and have worked in art communication ever since. In developing didactic projects I've collaborated with Universities, Museums and Government Agencies. Most importantly, I spent several years at the MACRO (Museo Arte Contemporanea Roma) followed by even more years at the Trajan Markets (Imperial forums Museum). So, as you can see my interests in art range from the far past to the immediate present. For the past seven years I've worked as a private tour guide and I love it. I believe a walk through Rome is a walk through time, from the earliest settlement on the Palatine to the still busy artisan neighborhoods, from the Christian churches to the Jewish Ghetto. I specialize in tailor-made tours for first time or repeat visitors seeking more in depth knowledge of the city. I enjoy working with families and children and have had great experiences with tourists who have mental or physical disabilities as well. ". . only in Rome do you really get to know Rome. . " J. W. Ghoethe Italian Journey, 1786-1788. Strolling through this ever surprising city aided by maps, drawings, photos and writings of each historical period, we'll penetrate and truly experience Rome! I am licensed tour guide of Rome with a degree in Art History . I spent several years at the MACRO (Museo Arte Contemporanea Roma) followed by even more years at the Trajan Markets (Imperial Forum Museum) In December 2018 I successfully completed the course: "Fundamentals of Extraordinary Tour Leading" I can organize a customized tours (full day or half day) with luxury private car and driver. I have no limitations of any kind and I can access any place of cultural interest and guide you in any of the languages I am proficient in. If my calendar seems full, don’t hesitate to contact me anyway. I may still be able to accommodate you. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. Please note that I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel or port only through the driver. I will meet you directly at the designated meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

Testaccio is considered by Romans the most authentic district of the Capital! The hub of the district is the historical market, recently renovated but without losing its tradition: here we can taste the typical Roman street food. Beside is a Pyramid, a 1st century b. C. tomb, and the Non Catholic Foreigners cemetery, where, among the others, are buried Keats and Shelly! Outside the 3 rd century Aurelian Walls is Ostiense, the former industrial district which nowadays is a great example of urban archeology: the old structures have been reused. For example the first public electric plant to be opened in Rome now houses a wonderful collection of ancient statues which match beautifully with the old machinery: The Montemartini Museum. Nearby are some colored buildings decorated by famous street artists as part of an urban requalification project. You can't lost this typical and really roman tour! Follow me!
