Hello and welcome! First of all I want to thank you for visiting my homepage! Now let me introduce myself! My name is Maria Rosaria and I have been a tour guide of Rome for more than 20 years! When I was in school I studied Latin, Greek and Art history. My Art history teacher was so passionate that he passed all his love for art along to me. At university I studied languages. My passion for art, archaeology and languages led me to become a professional and inspired tour guide. Here you will find my best suggestions to discover and fall in love with Rome! But remember that together we can customize your experience creating tailored-made tours! For example we can visit the Vatican museums with secret places normally closed to regular public like the Bramante staircase and the Niccoline chapel, a unique experience away from the crowds! We can follow in the footsteps of Peter and Paul in Rome by visiting the Mamertine Prison where they were imprisoned, the little church of Domine Quo Vadis on the Appian Way where Peter met Jesus. But also the Abbey of the Three Fountains where Paul was beheaded, without missing the two major basilicas of Saint Peter and Saint Paul Outside the Walls where the two saints, patrons of Rome, are buried. We can visit the archaeological park of the Colosseum with a Full Experience ticket allowing us to see the arena level, the secret passage of the Emperors and the hidden gems of the Palatine hill and of the Roman forum! To have a deep and widespread knowledge of Roman life and habits I recommend a visit to Ostia antica, the city port of Rome, the little Pompei near Rome! Strolling around the remnants of the ancient city we can learn about shops, baths, mills, and homes. Or the archaeological museum of Palazzo Massimo to see frescoes, mosaics, bronze and marble statues like the Boxer at rest and the Discobolus that were decorating public and private buildings in ancient Rome. Rome was made great by Renaissance and Baroque famous artists such as Raphael, Michelangelo, Bernini, Caravaggio. They left their masterpieces in private collections such as those of Borghese gallery or Doria Pamphili gallery. We can arrange a private tour of the Colonna gallery to discover not only the art masterpieces, but also Princess Isabella's private apartment! So, it’s time to make a choice and meet you in Rome! If my calendar appears unavailable, please contact me anyway. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel or port via the driver. I’ll meet you at the meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

Paul, born in Tarsus and a Roman citizen, initially persecuted Christians. On the road to Damascus, he was blinded and heard the voice of Jesus, leading to his conversion to Christianity and taking the name Paul. He embarked on missionary journeys and, after being arrested in Jerusalem, requested to be judged in Rome, where he lived under house arrest, writing letters. He may have lived where the Churches of St. Paul alla Regola or Santa Maria in Via Lata were later built. Arrested under Nero, he was imprisoned in the Mamertine Prison and later beheaded at Acquae Salviae, where the Abbey of the Three Fountains now stands. Buried in the Ostiense Necropolis, he was honored with the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls. We remember his words: "Love is patient, love is kind... Love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13).
We will see: - Mamertine Prison, the roman prison where the Apostles St. Peter and St. Paul were both imprisoned - Abbey of the 3 Fountains along the Laurentina Road, where St. Paul was martyred - Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, where the tomb of the Saint is located * I can customize this tour according to your interests and demands and combined with other tours. * Security control at the site’s entrance. Low difficulty but some places are not accessible to people with limited mobility (walker or wheelchair). Are you a cruiser? Please contact me to customize the tour.
