Ciao everyone! My name is Natalia and I am 100% Roman, born and grew up in this wonderful and vibrant city, in a neighborhood close to the Vatican area where I live with my family. Since I completed the high school I decided to concentrate my studies to the art and archaeology. After my degree in Art History I specialized on Italian Renaissance Art and spent some years of working as museum educator in ancient Roman sites and museums like the Borghese Gallery. In 2008 I began working as tour coordinator for big companies, and in 2010 I passed the examination and got the tourist guide license issued by the Roman Tourism Board/Council. I like arranging and doing personalized tours for groups and schools from Italy and different countries, but mainly for individual clients tailoring every part according to their needs. Often my guests are families or the not-so-youthful travelers, and I really like sharing with them my favorite corners, where to find secret treasures or also family-run restaurants or the best gelato places. If your stay in Rome is short, I have planned a half-day itinerary to discover its four highest-ranking Roman Catholic churches, also known as the major basilicas. Although they are all situated within the Diocese of Rome and not inside Vatican City, they are under the jurisdiction of the Holy See, receiving extraterritorial status under the Lateran Treaty. These magnificent churches—among the most extraordinary in the world—are filled with art and architecture that have inspired pilgrims and visitors from every corner of the globe, whether religious or not. What’s more, each basilica is free to enter and explore, with only a few special areas requiring a small entrance fee. These churches are often overlooked by tourists, but in my opinion, they are the hidden wonders of Christian Rome!

Note: generally in all the Roman churches dress code for both men and women requires shoulders and knees to be covered. Shorts and skirts are fine, but below knees. IMPORTANT: The Basilicas may not be open to visitors due to religious masses or functions, the guide is Not responsible, in which case the guide will explain from outside.
