From being young I have always had a passion for Art and the way some special people expressed themselves through it: music, archaeology, history, architecture, poetry and literature have always been my favourite subjects. All of this gives me today a deeper comprehension of the works in museums and a great joy at sharing it with people. After eighteen years as a licensed guide, showing museums, art collections and churches in Rome, I still enjoy sharing what I have learnt and I do not mind customizing tours according to clients requests. This work gives me the opportunity to meet many people from different backgrounds: I have lectured for National Geographic and Smithsonian, I tought Renaissance and Baroque Art for an american university in Rome, I lead tours for Roman groups and for tourists and I am not yet tired! All of this makes me strongly believe to have chosen the best work possible in the most beautiful city in the world: Rome! Art History graduate from Università La Sapienza di Roma Licensed tour guide of Rome If my calendar seems full, don’t hesitate to contact me anyway. I may still be able to accommodate you. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. Please note that I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel or port only through the driver. I will meet you directly at the designated meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone

The oldest foreign community Rome has ever had, still today having its main meeting place in the same spot where the Jewish District, also known as Ghetto, was located in 1555. Today, this district hosts the Synagogue and a higher number of kosher and Roman Jewish cuisine restaurants. Historically, the first area in Rome where the Jewish group and economy started lies in Trastevere district where is a lovely, aged, small, building with an oldest Jewish inscription, related to a rabbi's house - evidence of a continuing Jewish presence. We start this tour on the left bank of the Tiber river (where the Synagogue is) and cross the Fabricio bridge, the oldest in Rome (62 B. C. ), and walk across the Tiber Island to reach Trastevere, which still today mantains its sense of ancient beauty with cobbled streets and old buildings, unimposing and full of character. If you follow me in this characteristic tour I will let you discover all the secrets, anecdotes and stories that revolve around these ancient neighborhoods
Discover the Jewish district, the old Ghetto and Trastevere with me: Theatre of Marcellus (outside) Piazza Mattei Via della Reginella Portico d'Ottavia Synagogue (outside) Ponte Rotto Ponte Fabricio Tiber Island Ponte Cestio Piazza in Piscinula Santa Cecilia (outside) Santa Maria in Trastevere The itinerary can be customized as you prefer. The dress code applies to all Christian churches in Rome, though some other ones may not be as strict as they are at St. Peters. It is good to know when a service is being held, and act accordingly. Churches are about the only place that enforce a dress code. The general rule is simply knees covered and shoulders covered.
