Welcome to my home town! In Rome, art and beauty are combined with a genuine love of the pleasures of life. As an art historian, I would like to show you the uniqueness of my home city from my point of view. Goethe wrote: "I was born a second time, I was truly resurrected, the day I set foot in Rome". I too, feel like I have finally found myself in this city. And if you allow this place to enter under your skin, you'll also be transformed and you'll never look at the world with the same eyes ever again. Rome is a mirror to better understand ourselves and the world we live in, if we know how to look at it. I have lived in several countries, learning a couple of languages in the process. I have come in touch with different ways of life and I have performed many disparate jobs, some more satisfactory then others. I have been a teacher, a seller, an interpreter. I have worked in museums, art galleries, newspapers and even in an auction house. Never to settle. Never to hear "the call". Always feeling that something was missing. Then, in 2013, I moved to Rome and finally all of my life started to make sense. All of the different jobs, the divergent experiences, the assorted knowledge. . . it all came together as if I was preparing for this place and for this job since forever. I have a very unique point of view that I've been sharing with travelers from all over the word since 2015. I tell the tale of this city, a tale so universal, compelling, adventurous, that it has enchanted visitors and travelers for over two thousand years. A tale told by every stone of this city. It doesn't matter the starting point, this is a journey that we'll take you through legendary archeological sites, breathtaking museums, golden churches, outstanding fountains and ancient obelisks. An adventure that will lead your steps above mythical roads, holy castles, opulent palaces. . . All is a part of the bigger tale called Rome. And we, as well, are part of it and we all have our role to play. We can discover Rome together, at your pace and following your passions and interests. All of my tours can be modified and tailored to your very need. Overview of your Rome tour

Join me on a captivating journey through the footsteps of Augustus, Rome's first emperor, as we uncover the political intrigue and familial dynamics that shaped the beginning of the Empire. We delve into Augustus' private life and his monumental legacy. The Mausoleum, where Augustus and his family were buried, reflects his desire for eternal remembrance and the perpetuity of his dynasty. Next, we visit the Ara Pacis, the Altar of Peace to commemorate the prosperity he brought to Rome. Here, we explore Augustus' vision for Pax Romana and his efforts to stabilize the empire politically and culturally. Our journey continues to the Pantheon, a symbol of Augustus' architectural prowess and devotion to Roman gods. As we walk through the Porticus of Octavia and Marcello's theater, we unravel Augustus' relationship with his daughter, Julia. Her marriages were strategic alliances crucial to Augustus' political ambitions, yet they also reveal the personal sacrifices made within the imperial family.

My daughter is studying Augustus Caesar as part of her final-year Ancient History syllabus at high school and this was the perfect tour for us. Sabrina was very flexible in adapting this tour, as we were staying right next to the Fori Imperiali and felt that we should try to incorporate the Foro di Augusto. That was not a problem at all and so we managed to squeeze in one extra Augustan site - just ask her! This tour covers some fantastic well-known sites - the Pantheon, Teatro di Marcello, Largo di Torre Argentina - and some that should be much better known than they seem to be: the beautiful Ara Pacis and the Mausoleum of Augustus. Sabrina had wonderful stories to tell at all of these places and really wove together the story of Augustus Caesar, his rise to power and the Pax Romana. For students of Ancient History, this tour was invaluable in bringing all of that to life - seeing real buildings, putting accomplishments to dates, and feeling the legacy some 2000 years later. Her knowledge of the Pantheon was impeccable. We also learned interesting things about the Egyptian obelisks of Rome along the way - can you spot the counterfeits? Ask Sabrina! It's funny that Julius Caesar commands all of the attention of the history buffs when it was actually Augustus who delivered a far greater legacy. Shifting the Republic to an Empire without getting assassinated; you've got to admire that! This tour lets you peek behind the scenes of the guy that made this happen, carefully and methodically over decades. The Mausoleum itself is still closed - unfortunately - but having it right next to the Ara Pacis Museum was a great combination. I had never heard of the Ara Pacis before - and I don't know why... it's absolutely stunning! Sabrina brought that monument to life, as we walked around it and through it - and then had to think about all of the colours that were missing from it. Towards the end of the tour, my daughter and Sabrina discovered a mutual love of Japanese manga and anime... who would've thought? It was a great day. This tour offers something a little different but it's a critical part of Roman history - and one that fitted our high school syllabus perfectly. Grazie, Sabrina!

Sabrina was very informative and animated. The tour was engaging and delightful. 10/10 would recommend. I enjoyed the tour of the Parthenon especially.

I wish six stars were available. Sabrina’s knowledge and enthusiasm combined to make this the best tour I was on during my month in Rome. If you love history and art as I do and are at all interested in how Augustus brought about the successful transition of Rome from a failing republic to a stable principate this is the tour for you!
