The tour is designed for those who want to enjoy a different Rome, far from the hectic atmosphere of popular tourist sites, but still full of wonders. I will drive you around between sites in a comfortable and air-conditioned private van commenting and explaining about all the sites that we will visit and many other, sometimes invisible and little ones that we will see along the road. This was our second tour with Assem and he did not disappoint us. He is very professional and knowledgeable, with many interesting facts and stories. We enjoyed out tour of the Catacombs and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to see a different aspect of the history of Rome. You cannot go wrong with Assem as your guide.
- We gonna be starting our tour in a fascinating little corner of Rome, the Aventine Hill one the seven hills of Rome where we are going to discover one of the little secrets of the eternal city, the key hole. - Then I will drive you to visit the catacomb of Santa Domitila, a maze of underground Christian cemeteries dating to the 1st century, this is a unique experience to walk the eerie tunnels filled with empty tomb niches and beautiful frescoes. - After the visit we'll move to the Appian way (Via Appia Antica) the most ancient road built by the Roman. This ancient road is where Spartacus and 6, 000 of his followers were crucified. - We will drive around the ancient walls of Rome dating back to the third century AD, still exists in large parts and to see the ancient gates of the city. - Another hidden gem, the pyramid of Caius Cestius… most travelers don't know about the pyramids of Rome. - And finally we'll end our tour on the top of the Janiculum Hill to enjoy a wonderful panorama view of the whole city
