For the last 15 years, I have been fortunate and honoured to present the treasures of the Eternal City to many tourists through my tours of this enchanting city. Rome continues to inspire me with its unique charm, its wealth of monuments, and especially the lesser-known attractions that are not on the main touristic paths. I always feel thrilled to witness the enthusiasm and joy in my guests’ eyes at the end of our tours! In the future, I intend to provide not only the traditional and most famous tours of the Colosseum, the Ancient Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, and the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel but also lesser-known routes, particularly for travellers who have visited the city multiple times. These will include places like the Doria Pamphilj Gallery, Colonna Gallery, and the Capitoline Museums, as well as Christian-related itineraries and some less touristy Roman neighbourhoods and charming small towns like Palestrina. If my calendar appears unavailable, please contact me anyway. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel or port via the driver. I’ll meet you at the meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

Let's visit the ancient town of Tivoli, located just 19 miles from Rome, which was established over 400 years before the eternal city. The wealthy Romans favoured this area for their luxurious villas due to its fresh air, mineral springs & abundant building materials like limestone, making Tivoli a significant Roman town. It is no coincidence that in the 2nd century, Emperor Hadrian selected Tivoli for the construction of his magnificent villa, which spans approximately 120 hectares & features residential buildings, baths, gardens & artificial water basins. On this tour I'll provide insights into Roman construction techniques that have allowed these structures to endure through the centuries. Also I highly recommend stopping for lunch at a local trattoria to sample traditional dishes! As for the afternoon, we'll spend it at the Renaissance Villa d’Este, built in the 16th century. With its numerous fountains, jets of water, and beautiful green pathways, you'll enjoy its serene atmosphere.
·Our tour begins with a pick-up from your Rome hotel in a Mercedes with a hired driver. ·We'll then drive along Via Tiburtina to Tivoli (18 miles east of Rome). ·What follows is a visit to Villa Adriana Archaeological Park, where we'll see: -The Pecile -The Canopus -The Maritime Theatre -The Great & Small Baths -The Greek Library -The Latin Library ·We could then go on a lunch break before visiting Visit Villa D'Este, where we'd see the Palace & its Italian-style garden with amazing fountains. ·We'll proceed to see the Organ fountain, with a functioning hydraulic organ. ·We'll then cover the Avenue of the 100 fountains, which includes The Fountain of Rometta, the Ovate Fountain, The Fountain of Dragons & the Neptune fountain with the astonishing waterfall. ·After seeing the Fish Pond, we could continue walking in Tivoli or take a coffee break before returning to Rome. Please note that the order of visits may change due to the season & time of day, and the itinerary may be impacted by city traffic.

Private Mercedes van & driver with air conditioning. If you are more than 5 people, please contact me for a customized tour and quotation. Villa Adriana is an Archeological park, so in it we'll walk 2 miles on average, including 0. 3 miles to reach the ruins. Be aware that Villa d'Este is more vertical than horizontal: there are many steps & slopes. Therefore I suggest bringing a bottle of water & wearing comfortable shoes. During the summer, be sure not to forget a hat, sunscreen & sunglasses. During the winter, I suggest bringing a raincoat or small umbrella in case it rains. Note that in rainy days, the water in the fountains is turned off at Villa d'Este.
