I studied archeology, mainly Roman history and architectures, with a PHD in Middle Age, the medieval castles and churches are my favorite attractions, I have the license to teach History of Art in the high schools, but I always had the passion to show the beauty around me to the ones that are as me full of curiosity. Explore the myth of Rome with an archaeologist. Start the tour admiring the Colosseum, still standing after around 2000 years, where hunting games, gladiator combats, and capital executions took place for the entertainment of the Romans, I will search for you the arena floor and the undergrounds tickets (60% of possibilities accordingly to the number of people and the flexibility on the time of the visit). Reach then the Palatine Hill where from iron age evidences, it is possible to follow the development of the area up to the current time, really an unbelievable example of persisting use. Accordinghly with avaiabilities we will enter the Augustus's house with its lovely frescoes perfectly preserved and the palaces where the emperor lived. Visit the Roman Forum, the political and religious center of Rome. Lia guided our group of 7 and was great! Right on time funny, engaging, and most of all filled with knowledge and perspective of Rome. She gave us a very good picture of the Roman power structure and why things evolved as they did. She dealt with random inconveniences easily and guided us efficiently so we could spend the most time on important tour stops. Lia was great. She not only knew the details but was also able to present the information in an informative and humanizing way. The tour we did was the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Forum, ending at Trajan's column.

We had two guided tours with Lia in Rome. During the first one, we had the pleasure to visit not only the main tourist sites we intended to see but also some hidden gems. It was exciting to see what the sites looked like originally from the well prepared handouts. We would have never found out and have never seen as much of Rome as we could with our funny, lively and amazing guide who spoke perfect English and Italian. The first tour was so successful, we also booked a second tour, to see the Vatican.
