I still remember the first time I saw ancient statues, I was in the Vatican Museum and I was a child. Those marble giants were not just silent witness of their time but it seemed like I could hear their voices talking to me from the past. Was it that a decisive moment in my life? Probably it was! I graduated in Art History at Rome University and while waiting to find a "real" job I started to work as a guide and, little by little, it became my job! Overview of your Rome tour
The privilege to have both gladiators' perspective and Emperors' view, in the same day. The Arena stage is essentially the "backstage" of the Colosseum, and it's there you'll learn how preparations were made for the life and death "games" that played out in the Arena. Yes, exactly where the gladiators would face their destiny and their fierce opponents in no-holds-barred duels and terrifying battles that would drive the Romans insane. We will carry on by visiting the extended Roman Forum focal point of Romans everyday life. Here is where they met to take carry out their businesses and to participate in public life. Last but not least, to have an overall view we have to reach the Palatine hill, Roman emperors' residence from where they would decide the fate of the Empire. I love the art and statues haven't stop whispering their stories to me, that, together with studies and experience, enables me to explain to you things about Rome in a way you could not imagine. This was an incredible tour and Patrizia was a fantastic historian with so much information about the history of the colosseum and forum with background and content that made the tour so informative. If I was going to do a tour when visiting Rome this is who I would do it with. The meeting place was easy to get to, she was on time, during the tour she constantly asked if we needed to take a break, use the bathroom, or wanted to spend more time in a specific location to take pictures. I would highly recommend her for future tours. It was a blast! I would rate this a 10 out of 10 tour.

We were very fortunate to have Patrizia for an afternoon tour of the Vatican and a tour of the Colosseum with her the next morning. She has a tremendous amount of knowledge and a very friendly attitude. There was 6 of us in our group and everyone had a great time. I always love tour by locals. We'll see : Constantine's Arch Colosseum from the inside: first and second level, (Arena optional) Palatine Hill with the massive ruins of the emperor's Palace Breathtaking view over the Roman Forum Arch of Titus (with the famous frieze of the Menorah) Temple of Romulus Temple of Vesta and House of Vestal Virgins Temple of Antoninus Pius and Faustina Temple dedicated to Julius Caesar (the place where he was cremated) The square with the Basilicas Arch of Septimius Severus The Curia (ancient Roman Senate) NOTE: This tour includes the Colosseum Standard Tickets. The availability of Arena tickets is limited, I will try to buy them in advance we need a lot of luck. -Contact me for a customized itinerary -The itinerary could be on the reverse according to Colosseum time slot tickets -Important: please bring a copy of your passport (paper copy or photo on your phone), the tickets are nominal and a copy of your documents must be shown

Walking Tour -I suggest bringing a bottle of water and to wear comfortable shoes -During the summer, be sure not to forget a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses -During the winter, be sure not to forget a raincoat or small umbrella -Please write me if there are people with mobility problems and if you use or need a wheelchair, the itinerary will be different. -For security reasons, all visitors are to be screened with Metal Detectors NOTE: during the Winter from November to February the latest time to start the tour is 1:00 PM.
