Hi! My name is Matteo, born and raised in Rome on March 20th, 1991. I’ve been working as a tour guide since I was 25, combining my love for travel and history with the joy of sharing stories. I studied Languages and Cultural Mediation, as well as History, which deepened my understanding of communication, cultures, and the ancient world around me. Growing up surrounded by ruins and timeless art sparked my curiosity for the past and shaped the way I see the world today. Guiding people through my city isn’t just a job—it’s a way to connect cultures, exchange experiences, and keep history alive every day. If my calendar appears unavailable, please contact me anyway. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. I provide pick-up and drop-off at the hotel or port via the driver. I’ll meet you at the meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

Born in Milan in 1571, Caravaggio lived and worked in Rome from the late 1580s until 1606, transforming the course of art history. This walking tour leads you through the districts where he lived and painted, uncovering stories, techniques and the bold vision behind his revolutionary art. We admire his masterpieces in the very churches for which they were created: at Santa Maria del Popolo, The Conversion of Saint Paul and The Crucifixion of Saint Peter; at Sant’Agostino, the powerful Madonna of the Pilgrims. The tour concludes at San Luigi dei Francesi, home to the three paintings dedicated to Saint Matthew, Caravaggio’s first altarpieces and a turning point in Western art. A passionate and immersive journey into the life of a genius who changed forever the way we look at reality. Let me reveal all his secrets, let’s go!
