Hi everyone! My name is Ferdinando, and I have a mission. . to turn your tour in an interactive experience! Your essential contribution, sensibility, wishes, inclinations, tastes and background become mine and I lavish them on my next tour. It becomes a moment of cultural exchange and a personal benefit not only as a tour guide but mainly as a person. Meeting people for me is like traveling with my imagination and so my philosophy is that experiencing Rome is never a one-way conversation, but a chance for a reciprocal growth. I can proudly say I have had a lot of customers but I also have many friends. This awareness however is the result of a long journey starting with a Degree in Preservation of the Cultural Heritage in Sicily and a Master Degree in Classical Archaeology (i. e. greek and roman). So I'm an archaeologist and an official guide of Rome and its province since 2009 but mainly I'm a traveler. This is why my tours are 100% clients oriented, never forget that it is your tour not mine! I can handle any kind of experience like the regular tours with adults, or family tours, where I can say I'm an expert! My two daughters help me every day! And in general I'm at your disposal for any kind of customization according to the time available and your interests. I can provide an overview of the city covering the main attractions as well as discovering the hidden treasures and visiting the off the beaten tracks sites for those who already had a taste of the city. Contact me also for driving, electric bike, running and segway tours, for a different way to explore the eternal city. What makes my tour an unique experience though are two goals to achieve on a tour. . The first is to make my love and passion for what this marvelous city offers contagious, and second, as a consequence of the previous, to leave this city with a feeling of respect of the past and the wish for every possible visitor after you to enjoy the same beauty! Being not merely a guide though but digging since the age of 18, what I offer is not a simple tour, but a way to breath history. I'll do my best to let the monuments come alive as I had the privilege to take part to the excavation of an area very close to the Colosseum. The experience turned afterwards into my MD focused on Nero and the Flavians, the dynasty of emperors who built the Colosseum. So the valley of the Amphitheater is like my second home as it was the introduction of my dissertation. Well. . I did my best to convince you. . I hope it worked:-)) See you in Rome! ciao! Bachelor Degree in Preservation of the Cultural Heritage at the University of Palermo Master Degree in Classical Archaeology at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" Official License as a tour guide of Rome and Vatican City Please note, occasionally tours can be delivered by other colleagues of mine, all licensed tour guides with years of experience, fluent in several foreign languages and.. mandatory requirement, having an university background like me in Archaeology or history of art.

Overview of your Rome tour

Join me on this journey through the meandering alleys of the city center to retrace the stages of Caravaggio's pictorial experience and his troubled life. We will go through the stages that have marked his pictorial experience and his troubled life. Talented and restless, Caravaggio realizes in Rome the most complete synthesis of his artistic genius. Discover the places where he stayed, guest of Cardinals and Marquises, walk in squares and alleys that have shaped his imagination to serve as inspiration for his works, wander through the streets of Campus Martius, almost the same as that lived by Caravaggio, scenario of his and his friends raids. Learn about his restless character, his quarrels, duels, clashes with the police, imprisonment, until the murder that will take him away from the capital and will let his descending parable begin, his wandering up and down Italy waiting for the forgiveness of the Pope which will arrive shortly before his death in the coast of Tuscany.

Excellent tour by Ferdinando. My husband and I toured with him around Rome. He’s extremely knowledgeable and insightful and brings new depth to many sites. He is so pleasant and put a lot of effort to personalize our tour.

All five of us really enjoyed our Caravaggio tour with Ferdinando Badagliacca! We each learned so much about Caravaggio that we hadn't known before - about his life and his art. As a painter myself. it was totally inspiring. Ferdinando has a wealth of information. We all were very happy we toured with him. Ferdinando is an excellent tour guide and teacher! I highly recommend him! Thank you!

Ferdinando was a delightful guide! He was able to bring Caravaggio to life - pointing out the objects and places in Rome today that were in his paintings in 1600. We saw where he lived, where he painted, and where he frequently fell into mischief. So much fun!

Ferdinando's tour showed us Caravaggio the man as well as Caravaggio the legend. Ferdinando's knowledge of Caravaggio's life took us to locations in Rome to see where Caravaggio lived and worked, which gave us a deeper understanding of Caravaggio's paintings. Our tour included seeing select works of Caravaggio where Ferdinando was able to provide extra insights and commentary not derived from a typical art tour. Friendly and engaging, Ferdinando gave us a memorable morning to remember. Highly recommend.

Ferdinando was amazing. So easy to work with via emails. My family was going to be in Rome for Spring Break. We did 5 tours with with Ferdinando over the week. Everything was so amazing. Beginning with NOT having to deal with the long lines and buying tickets. We walked right into all of our destinations. Ferdinando was incredible as a tour guide. His knowledge is world class. It is SO worth it to book Ferdinando for all our Rome tours. He has the must see Rome tours but also other amazing tours.

This tour with Ferdinando B. was one of the best tours we've ever taken. He provided an amazing amount of information. His depth of knowledge is profound, and his delivery was delightful. His wonderful sense of humor and excellent command of English made our experience a five-star one. As an art history major, I thought I was well versed on Caravaggio, but I came away with a plethora of new knowledge. We highly recommend this tour with Ferdinando!!
