Ciao everyone! My name is Natalia and I am 100% Roman, born and grew up in this wonderful and vibrant city, in a neighborhood close to the Vatican area where I live with my family. Since I completed the high school I decided to concentrate my studies to the art and archaeology. After my degree in Art History I specialized on Italian Renaissance Art and spent some years of working as museum educator in ancient Roman sites and museums like the Borghese Gallery. In 2008 I began working as tour coordinator for big companies, and in 2010 I passed the examination and got the tourist guide license issued by the Roman Tourism Board/Council. I like arranging and doing personalized tours for groups and schools from Italy and different countries, but mainly for individual clients tailoring every part according to their needs. Often my guests are families or the not-so-youthful travelers, and I really like sharing with them my favorite corners, where to find secret treasures or also family-run restaurants or the best gelato places. I am passionate about so many things... it is impossible to list them all…. food, books, activities with my 7 years old son, travels and art for sure! Have an idea for a customized tour in Rome or in its surroundings? Don't hesitate to get in touch with me and we'll explore the possibilities together. Caravaggio, whose real name was Michelangelo Merisi (1571-1610), was born in a small farming community near Milan where he trained before moving to Rome in the early 1600s. He was an artist with a complex and troubled personality, famous for his dramatic chiaroscuro, stark naturalism, and violent subject matter. Some of his masterpieces are in the original churches for which they were commissioned. The stroll will start from the beautiful Santa Maria del Popolo that hosts the Saint Paul's Conversion and the Crucifixion of Saint Peter, and then we will admire The Madonna of Pilgrims in Sant'Agostino and we will end up in the nearby San Luigi dei Francesi, the national church of France in Rome, to discover the three paintings with the stories of Saint Mathew There is no better way to get to know Michelangelo Merisi than by being guided on this itinerary through the streets of the historic center of Rome to discover the masterpieces of the great artist perfectly intact and preserved. I love Caravaggio!
