Located atop Capitoline Hill, one of Rome’s legendary seven hills, this museum complex is known as “the Museum of all Museums.” Its story began with Pope Sixtus IV, who brought here symbols of ancient Rome’s identity, including the famous She-Wolf representing Romulus and Remus and the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius. The tour begins in the square designed by Michelangelo, then continues through the Palazzo dei Conservatori and its courtyard with the colossal statue of Constantine, the Lapidary Gallery with stunning views over the Roman Forum, and Palazzo Nuovo, home to the iconic Dying Gaul. Discover Rome’s history from its origins as you explore the legends of its foundation through Roman art and culture. This is a less crowded, off-the-beaten-path experience during the Jubilee 2025 period. Bring your enthusiasm and curiosity!
