Bath of Caracalla and Circus Maximus

Stunning, super informative, the greatest guide - just when you have been to Rome a few times and think you have seen all the sites... then you realise how much more there is to see and experience. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic tour! We learned so much. Valentina is extremely knowledgeable and passionate yet able to communicate to us mere mortals. Wish I had booked all my tours with her. Highly recommend this tour to get away from the extreme crowds. This is a secret gem away from the masses .

Honestly, if I could have Valentina guide me around Rome every day for my two weeks here I absolutely would. She has an incredible energy that makes her an absolute delight to be around. She is a very knowledgeable and passionate archeologist. Her enthusiasm for history is undeniable, and she is adept at making you feel that enthusiasm. I've never once felt that she was describing the same old ruins that she's seen a thousand times. I genuinely believe she loves sharing these places with people.

Valentina, an archeologist by training and experience, is an extremely knowledgeable and delightful guide. Our group of 5 adults (one of whom is College professor of early European history) was very impressed with her knowledge and enthusiasm for Rome's archeology and history. We had all been to Rome a number of times, but this trip was made exceptional by the two tours we took with Valentina. We couldn't recommend her more highly.

On our second customized tour of this trip, Valentina and I visited Palatine Hill in the morning before it was crowded and then met again in late afternoon to tour the Baths of Caracalla. Valentina had a special surprise on this trip - the House of Augustus had reopened since I'd planned my trip and she also made sure we went there in a time slot where they weren't running their audiovisual show. Valentina is a great guide and so knowledgeable about all things Ancient Rome.

This was our third fantastic tour with Valentina. She is an excellent guide because, as both an archaeologist and a good teacher, she enthusiastically conveys her extensive knowledge of the sites and their histories (as well as the limitations of our understanding), showing us all the clues that build our understanding of the buildings and the societies that inhabited them. We probably would not have been aware of the Basilica of San Clemente without her suggestion and it really should not be missed!
