Walking along the Via Appia Antica is a refreshing change from the city. In ancient Roman times, burials within the walls of the city were forbidden. While pagan Romans were cremated, Christians preferred to be buried. Highlights: - Aurelian Walls 271-277 A. D. - Saint Sebastian Gate - Catacombs of St. Callixtus or St. Sebastian - The Ancient Appian Way with the original paving - Villa of Maxentius and The Mausoleum of Cecilia Metella (closed on Mondays), if they are closed will see the Roman Aqueducts The itinerary can be customized according to your requests -Please write me if there are people with mobility problems and if you use or need a wheelchair.
