Ciao a tutti! I am Marilena and I have been a licensed guide in Milan and its Province since 2009. I speak fluentl English and of course, Italian! A strong passion for art and beauty conquered me since I was a teenager. After my University studies, I became a museum educator in the Brera Picture Gallery and, after obtaining my Tour Guide License, I continued to accompany nice school groups around the wonderful city of Milan, which I love to talk about! I truly love walking around the city and showing both adults and children its monuments and temples, telling their stories which have made this city great. When it comes to Milanese art collections, I love to focus on the smallest details in the paintings, which I hope to have the pleasure of describing to you. I love working with small groups, as well as with families with children, who allow me to engage in a very special dialogue to discover the city. I guarantee I'll be able to organize a special itinerary for you to get to know the city in the shadow of the Madonnina! I'll wait for you in Milan! Credentials: Degree in Cultural Heritage Sciences Master's Degree in Art History and Criticism 2019-2024 Higher education and specialized studies in Religious Tourism Member of GITEC Guide Italiane Turismo e Cultura Even if my calendar shows no availability, feel free to get in touch. I can organize private transportation by private car and driver. Just to clarify, I only arrange hotel pick-up and drop-off through the driver. I will meet you at the meeting point. For easy communication on the day of the tour, I suggest downloading WhatsApp on your smartphone.

Milan, hard to believe, until 1930 was a city of water, surrounded by a navigable canal over 5 km long. During this walk, we’ll explore the history of the canals, from how the marble for the Duomo traveled along the Naviglio Grande to the Cathedral, to ancient professions like the washermen, honored with a monument. We’ll discover the evolution of Porta Ticinese and life around the Darsena. Strolling along the Naviglio Grande and Naviglio Pavese, we’ll see how this area, once home to Milanese workers, is now a lively spot for young people enjoying aperitifs. Like true Milanese, we too will end our tour with a cocktail overlooking the canals.
