Hi! Welcome to everybody! I'm Fausta and I have been working as a professional tourist guide in Milan since 1997. I'm also official tourist guide of Lake Como, the medioeval town of Bergamo, the longobard town of Monza, and I'm tour leader as well. According to the new law n. 190 dated 13th December 2023, as national tourist guide I can offer you also guided tours in other towns like Pavia , Cremona, Genoa and Savona (Liguria). Regarding Milan . . . . I'm a real "local" , since I was born in Milan in 1970 and I've seen my hometown growing up, developing and becoming a real European Capital in the last years. Now, I can see my 3 children (the oldest one is 22 years old) getting the most of it and I can see how many opportunities Milan is giving them as well. I love my job! I love meeting people coming from different countries, showing them my city and getting to know about their places. I want my guests to discover Italy as travellers, not as tourists. That's why I'm trying to comunicate all my love and knowledges "as local" to visitors. I'm very proud of my birthcountry and its Dolce Vita style! Milan is the most international and open-minded city of Italy. It's the capital of Italian fashion, interior design, opera (i. e. the Scala operahouse and Casa Verdi where the composer Giuseppe Verdi is buried) and - by the way - also of alcoholic drinks (did you know that the first factory Campari was located at the boundaries of Milan and still nowadays -downtown - we have the historical cafè Camparino?). Milan was the capital of the West Roman Empire, a renaissance town in XV Cent. (that's why Leonardo da Vinci lived in Milan 20 years!) , an industrial town at the began of the XX Cent. (ie Pirelli factory), but now Milan has become a contemporary town, for which "archistars" like Zaha Hadid, Daniel Liebeskind , Cesar Pelli, Boeri designed a new skyline or new projects like the Bosco Verticale (Vertical Wood). I've seen and do see these changes every single day! What about Genoa and Savona ? As most of "milaneses" I have been spending my summer holidays since childhood in Liguria, and I am still doing it ! So please don't hesitate to get in contact with me even if you don't see my avaiability on the web-site, I might be in Spotorno and reach you in less than 1 hour to show you both the wonderful historical maritime republics! I studied and I am still studying hard to get my several qualifications. I keep on following refresher courses to be able to communicate to everybody the real soul of the northern part of Italy, because I do think that tourism is a right for everybody, no matter what kind of special needs you may deserve or which sense is the best for you to get to know the world. Regarding special needs or multisensorial tours, do not hesitate to let me know. I'll prepare the best tailor-made tour according to your needs! Hoping to see you soon . . . . Ciao! - Licensed tourist guide of Milan (since 1995), Monza (since 1995), Bergamo (since 1997), Como (since 2015) - Licensed tour guide/tour leader (since 1997) - Licensed professional guide in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian. - National Tourist Guide since 13th december 2023 according to the law n. 190. - Course for Heritage Interpretation (March 2017). - Course for guiding mental and physical disabled guests (February 2016). - Course for guiding blind and partially sighted guests ( December 2020 - January 2021). - Course "Switch on tourism " for accessible tourism - tourism for all (March - May 2021). - Graduation in modern foreign languages and literature (1993). Would you like to discover a true , real Italian town? Come to Bergamo! Bergamo is divided into two towns: the lower one dating back to the XIX Cent. and the upper one (or historical town) still showing its treasures dating back to the medieval and renaissance time, like the chapel Colleoni, the church Santa Maria Maggiore, its high towers . As soon as the upper town gets into sight, we'll be surprised by the huge wall surrounding the town, dating back to 1561. Once reached the upper town we can start our walking tour through the ancient narrow streets paved with cobble-stone . Last but not least: Bergamo is also the birth town of Donizetti (the famous composer) and of "Stracciatella", the ice cream flavour with chocolate pieces. After lunch - and according to the weather - we may walk along the huge wall -which has been appointed recently as World Heritage Site- towards the Lower Town. Early in the afternoon we'll drive back to Milan
- Departure by private van with professional driver to Bergamo (1-hour ride). - Drive up to the old town by private van, or - according to your wish - we'll get the historical funicular. - Walking tour through the historical Bergamo: Via Gombito, Piazza Vecchia, Piazza Duomo with Chapel Colleoni, the church Santa Maria Maggiore and the Duomo. - After lunch: (on request) walking along the massive wall dating back to the time of Venitian domination -1561 - and become in 2017 Unesco World Heritage Site. Around 2 pm : drive back to Milan (1 hour drive approximately). ** Traffic on the highway and wheater may affect the duration of our tour. ** This tour can be provided also using public transportation (trains). Please inquire me for a customized tour. **Chapel Colleoni and the Church Santa Maria Maggiore are closed on Mondays in winter time.
