Welcome to Milan! The most modern and european city of Italy! My name is Valeriya. Originally I'm from Ukraine, but I've been living in Italy for 27 years. I consider the city of Milan my home I graduated in Linguistic Sciences in Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan. If you've already been to Milan several times and you know the central monuments quite well, this tour is a better choice to deeply understand our city. We avoid the central square area and drive to discover the urban fabric of Milan's old streets and squares, some of which were built in the days of the Roman Empire! We will visit very ancient Milanese churches, which keep sacred relics and works of art. In many of them, there are unique frescoes, sculptures, and other ancient masterpieces, some of these basilicas were built 1000 years before the Duomo. We will also stop to have a coffee in a very old bakery, which Napoleon III did in the 19th century. We will visit the elegant neighborhoods where the rich Milanese elite lives, I'll show you the buildings where Dolce Gabbana and Giorgio Armani live and where prestigious restaurants and clubs are located. We will see the Skyscraper District, the Monumental Cemetery, and Chinatown. And we will discover various local curiosities of this multi-ethnic city.
Valeriya was an amazing tour guide. I would highly recommend her. She was very knowledgeable about many topics and showed us interesting places in Milan off the beaten path. I felt like I got to the know the city so much better because of her.
The 'hidden' elements of Milan are worthy of visiting. Including the historical commentary and some little known details added to the experience. I would recommend this tour again!
Valeriya was responsive prior to the tour when I asked if we could adjust our meet time, and extremely accommodating at the end of the tour when I had to cut it short for an urgent matter. Her English was excellent; I could understand her easily. She added a lot of humor to her extensive knowledge of art history, architecture and the history of Milan. I got to see some hidden gems in Milan and I am grateful to Valeriya for indulging me!
