Hello! I am Paola, a licensed and officially authorized tour guide in Milan, born and raised in the city. This tour offers an elegant escape to one of Italy’s most iconic destinations, surrounded by the Alps and renowned for its refined atmosphere. The experience begins in Como, where you stroll through the historic city center and admire the magnificent Como Cathedral, a landmark blending Gothic and Renaissance art. If desired, a Lake Como boat cruise can be added to enjoy the lake from the water, passing historic villas, manicured gardens, and exclusive residences along the shores. During summer, the itinerary may include Bellagio, the famous “Pearl of Lake Como”, ideal for a relaxed lunch, shopping, or an ice cream by the lake. In winter, from Como you can take the funicular up to Brunate, a charming village offering breathtaking panoramic views. Upon request, the tour can be enriched with a visit to Villa Carlotta and its celebrated botanical garden and or the picturesque village of Varenna. Afternoon return to Milan.
Paola is simply amazing. We had to extend our stay, and she was able to book us last minute for this amazing day trip. She customized it for our family and was able to get us a private boat that day. Her attitude is always positive, and she is a joy to tour with. The driver was fantastic as well.
Paola modified the tour to suit us. This involved a lot of planning and coordination of train and ferry schedules. We were able to gain familiarity with the lake and surrounding villages in the even we decide to return for an extended stay. We enjoyed the tour immensely.
Our tour of lake Cumo was pretty good, there were some things beyond our guides control such as construction around the lake shore which really took away from the panoramic views. The town was very quaint and pretty, with lovely shops. Our guide was very flexible with our party's wishes when my in-laws wanted to attend mass at the church while my family toured the town.
Our excellent guide, Paola, planned a great day for us - visiting three towns around Lake Como, transportation to/from Milan and a private boat ride. She was extremely helpful in planning everything for us (a group of 8), and made the day perfect. She helped us coordinate all aspects of our three days in Milan - I highly recommend her as a guide!
We had Paola for the Lake Como tour, and thanks to her, who planned it so well, we could enjoy our visit so much more than if we had done it ourselves. The boat ride to villa Carlotta was lovely and the visit to the villa and its gardens was wonderful. She had organized the private minivan ride to Como, then Bellagio where we all did some shopping and had lunch in a lovely restaurant. Paola loves what she does, she loves to share her knowledge with all her clients, and we all have appreciated it.
Paola showed us all I asked to see, was very nice and quite knowledgeable. She even made sure we were able to find our way back to the hotel. The only reason for 4 stars is because I did not expect to pay for her admission onto the funicular and boat tour. This was not stated in the tour description. I knew my families' fees were not included in the tour price, but do not feel I should have had to pay her entrance fees. It totaled about $60 Euros, which I feel I should be refunded.
- Como, walking sightseeing of the city center during which you'll see the catheadral and the Broletto, the Medival City Hall, and its historical streets. - Bellagio (in spring and summer time) the small village considered the pear of the lake, you'll walk in the narrow alleys and you'll see the caracteristic shops and/or Brunate (in autoum and winter times) you'll reach this small village by funicular to wach the view from the top of the hill. Itinerary may be flexible if you like, please contact me if you have any special request.
