Hello! My name is Michaela. I've been working in tourism since 1997. As a travel agent, flight attendant, and tour leader, I traveled a lot. In 2015 Mark Sullivan contacted me via Toursbylocals. He needed an interpreter and a guide. I was pleased to help him in this experience. He was about to publish the book. We spent the whole day together, and it was a fantastic experience. In the morning, we interviewed a man in his eighties, Lella's friend. It was emotional. It transmitted to us all the emotions he had proved. It was like I was listening to my grandparents, who were teenagers in Milan, as Pino Lella was. We followed Pino Lella's footsteps for the rest of the day: Via Montenapoleone, La Scala Operahouse, Hotel Regina, Duomo, Sforza Castle, Piazzale Loreto. I cannot guide you in Madesimo, but I perfectly know the catholic boy school in the alps as I used to ski there when I was a teenager. I've just asked Mark Sullivan to create a tour based on the book. We will talk about one of the saddest periods in the history of Milan, and I will tell some personal anecdotes.
If you read the book then you will really enjoy this tour and if not, then read the book. Michaela did a great job showing the places in Milano that were part of the story while also talking about the places and their historical significance. We had a great time and she was an excellent guide.

Michaela was great! She conducted the Beneath a Scarlett Sky tour for us and was able to show us the important sites from the life of Pino Lella. She also included the Cathedral and we climbed to the top and walked on the roof! It was great! Michaela is a wonderful guide!
If you've read the book "Under the Scarlet Sky", this tour is a must! We were able to see all the locations mentioned in the book, and Michaela's knowledge of Milanese history was amazing! The personalized tour of the Duomo was a special bonus....we skipped all the lines, even the "skip the line" line! Would highly recommend Michaela for any tour she might offer.
