I'm a licensed English speaking Israeli tour guide and former architect registered with the Ministry of Tourism. My tours illuminate the HISTORY of the land from biblical times to the present by focusing on ARCHAEOLOGICAL remains & the diverse ARCHITECTURAL styles adopted by former and present day occupants. Tours can also include GEOLOGICAL phenomena such as the Dead Sea as well as AGRICULTURAL sites like the date plantations of the Jordan valley. In addition, I offer tours of LESSER KNOWN SITES of which there is an abundance throughout Israel as well as TOURS FOR THE ELDERLY who enjoy walking, but at a slower pace. I offer a FREE SERVICE in the designing of tour itineraries and I favour going to restaurants and markets frequented by locals and avoid shopping malls except for the Mamilla mall in Jerusalem which has an extensive history. All Tours are of one day duration but can be joined together to form an extended tour. On a personal note : I try to achieve an "informal atmosphere", hence all tours are restricted to SMALL GROUPS or INDIVIDUALS which facilitate discussion between participants. Masters Degree in Architecture - University of the Witwatersrand - South Africa. Completed the 2 year Tour Guide Course at the Lander Academic Institute - Jerusalem (2010). Licensed Tour guide registered with the Ministry of Tourism - Israel. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

The capital of the present day State of Israel & ancient capital of the unified kingdom's of Israel & Judah. A city is sacred to the 3 principal monotheistic religions. For the past 200 years Jews have constituted the majority of the city's population. For Christians, Jerusalem is associated with the life of Jesus. For Moslems, with Muhammad's nocturnal journey to heaven. Starting in the New City we make our way to the Old City. On our journey, we encounter historical landmarks and iconic structures which are a testament to & an integral part of Israel's more recent history. Entering the Old City we go back in time. The archaeological remains coupled with the many diverse structures from different periods in Jerusalem's history bear witness to events that have occurred from biblical times to the present day.
New City buildings & historical landmarks include: The Mahane Yehuda market - Jerusalem's main "kitchen" The Y. M. C. A . - An eclectic building incorporating Judaic, Christian & Islamic beliefs. The King David Hotel. Mishkenot Sha'ananim - The first "modern" housing complex outside the Old City walls. Herod's family tomb. The Mamilla Mall - The buffer zone between Israeli & Jordanian forces between 1948-1967. Old City buildings & historical landmarks include Jaffa Gate - One of the 8 major gates into the Old City. The Roman Cardo. The Madaba map. The Hurva Synagogue. The Broad wall - Biblical wall. Lunch in the Jewish Quarter. Overview of The Kotel (Western Wall) & Temple Mount. The Arab Market.
